on self-isolating to fight

Life is interesting right now... I am working from home. School is cancelled, or being held remotely (depending on the capabilities of the school system). Mass is cancelled for the foreseeable future. Restaurants and bars are closed.

Be careful and stay safe. Be very careful to not spread this to the elderly especially.

@sobercatholic@rcsocial.net Diocese of Peoria has also cancelled all public Masses, CCD etc. Hopefully this doesn't last too long. We just prayed at home.

@Limax If you are in the stock market, there is a strange phenomenon - people act emotionally and "buy when things are high, and sell when they're low", which is a good way to lose money.

When the stock market goes down 15-20%, that is the time to buy, when things are low.

You sell when they are high. The best time there was to buy in the "Great Recession" was at the bottom, but so many people sold "at the bottom". And that's how people lose their shirts :(

It looks like the latest kernel update reduced active power consumption by another 100-140mA based on my own measurements. I hear there are a lot more improvements in the pipeline once we switch from 5.3 to the 5.6 kernel.

A powerful thing about the running PureOS instead of a mobile-specific OS is that existing desktop apps run w/o porting to a new platform, some just need UI tweaks to fit on the screen. GNUcash works out of the box in landscape mode both without the toolbar at default scaling and with the toolbar scaled 1.5x.

After adding proximity sensor-support to -sensor-proxy (gitlab.freedesktop.org/hadess/) and adding runtime-pm support for the chip used in the (and it's devkit) (lore.kernel.org/linux-iio/cove) we can now wire it up to to fade the screen and prevent keyboard input:
