For my talk I've hacked up the great pdf-presenter-console to fit the phone screen and show my notes so I can see what's currently on the LCD for the audience: source.puri.sm/guido.gunther/p

@chrichri so you wanted a "beta" without easter eggs? ;)

Yes, ultimately people should more than free to do what they want with their devices. Even porting android.

But for me personally, spending time and resources to try to bridge with the Android world, either porting it or using Anbox/Waydroid for me feels like an anchor holding us. And consuming time and resources.

I would personally prefer to burn those bridges and invest the resources available with making good mobile ready mainline linux applications.

If another one of those 10 distros works on a new feature for Bluetooth and upstreams it, it benefits not in that distro but the other 9.

"We could say the same with having > 10 distros of Linux duplicating the work."

Actually not really. The beauty of mainline linux on phones not only that you are using the same software stack across devices (laptop/phone).

But that those 10 distros are using the same upstream components.

If a distro has a fix for a modem manager bug and upstreams it, it benefits every single one of those 10 distros

"Love" people stating/declaring to the devs of a project in chat rooms and issue tickets that the project in question is "unusable" in overall because it does not serve the personal use case of the person that is complaining.

First-ever Gitea pull request from a remote instance!!! 🎉🥳

git.exozy.me/Ta180m/Hello-worl

I've been waiting for this moment for months now!

The code hasn't been pushed to gitea.com/Ta180m/gitea yet since it's incredibly messy, but I'll clean it up tomorrow and also submit a draft pull request to upstream Gitea.

(Technical implementation information: gitea.com/Ta180m/gitea/issues/)
