The fact that container package formats like and can somewhat contain the damages from bad code or bad coding practices should not be perceived as a license nor a permit to continue having bad software development and coding practices.

Yes this is a small rant after a convo where talking about a bad software practice someone says;
That is why flatpak is good, it isolates the system from that.

I'm so tired of teenagers being "the chosen ones" in fiction. please, let a middle-aged woman save the universe! she's seen some shit and dealt with it. she's tired of it all. she doesn't give a fuck. she's angry. she will get this shit done.

Im impressed with the quality of the USBC charger and cable OOB, this is going to be an interesting few days.

Initial feel is really good, light and small enough to have a use case, the magnetic pen sticks good and the magnetic cover is pretty good, i have yet to have any complaints, however i am not sure i should trust it entirely to keep the device from sliding out -- it will take usage to fibd out.

I had a associate draw on it using #krita #linuxart #art #pureos and they were impressed and felt it was good ebough for their sketching use case at minimum.

I will get feedback from long time 15 year #wacom #cintiq users, i would imagine they will find it adequate for some professional use cases which is excellent news as we have tried #wacommobilestudio and other devices with different degrees of success on #linux -- FYI wacom mobile studio is a PITA due to #nvidia having such problematic linux drivers -- it can be better to ommit usage and simple use #intel in that scenario.

The keeb wasnt working oob so i plugged in a wired on, i imagine its a easy fix, #phosh GUI didnt play nice with #krita but considering the value of krita on a light #tablet thats no big deal as it can be swapped out for #gnomemobile or other interfaces as convergence becomes more defacto.

I am pleasantly surprised, i am sure i will run into some rough edges as with any generation 1 product but my first impressions are that purism did an excellent job. Im sure there will be room for criticism ans self evaluation too but all things considered in my opinion we have a banger here -- the cameras were pretty decent too at a glance on the photos app.

I think this may be the year of the linux tablet, ha /s

Here are some photos of the Librem 11 that just arrived today. I ordered on day 1, hopefully this helps people understand the scale of the device -- see #steamdeck comparison.

My initial impressions are extremely impressed but I am pretty easy going considering I really like the pioneering in the #linux space by Purism. I'll write upore on my other account soon.

Had the need to charge an all electric Kia recently and guess what: both the charging stations app and the vendor's app are proprietary so how would I know when charging finished?

Turns out people around figured out the vendor API so I could use that to have a small app to monitor the charging status on my running

Options for Saturday:

1. jump into a online thread with the potential to become a flame war

2. Get out of the house, enjoy the daylight and go to a book fair

I think I will take option 2.

Due to the issue with mailserver which took longer then expect and carried additional stress package exceeding the daily norm, we moved nextcloud update for tomorrow. And so 21.09.2023 around midnight we will be running nextcloud update which can cause downtime of an hour or so (depending how long the update will take).

Once, this is done we will update the changelog with information about today and tomorrow’s updates. Consider it Maintenance window #50b

I’m heading back home from the Global Gathering Feira in Portugal! While I was there I tables for the OnionShare project. When I realized that I had forgotten to pack my OnionShare stickers to give out, I decided instead to just directly share onions with people

You get a completely free operating system, please support us in developing it with detailed
reports rather than pushing end user support upstream.

At the very minimum check with the communities upfront how to best interact and supply them with hardware.

Dear @junocomputers if you sell computers and use Free Software Operating systems it is not o.k. to assume you can free ride on community support.

It makes me sad to have mails from users in my inbox that are stuck with an unusable device on a Sunday and are seeking help to get it going again. This is your job.

Please listen to your customer's issue. If it's a software issue in the latest upstream version forward it with a good description.

Breaking the phone you plan to demo with is always fun.

Fixing it, even more so!
Just need a keyboard and run 1 command.

2 hours to go debconf23.debconf.org/talks/61

I'm a bit concerned about the frequent power losses at the hotel though :D

I'll add image descriptions later, need to work on my slides :P
and need to go for a swim!
