Less than 1hr from the start of my @fosdem talk, I wanted to share a small surprise: this, ladies and gentlemen, is a @Fairphone 4 running @mobian :)
Still far from full support, but kudos to @z3ntu for their work on mainlining this device!

#fosdem #mobilelinux

I've been playing around with suspend on the #librem5 with #postmarketOS, and it seems to work for simple tests! #postmarketOS edge will get it once MR 2728 in pmaports is merged.

Nice work @merge and others at #purism!

I wonder how well it works with waking for SMS/calls, that's the next test.

@craftyguy or use `shellcheck` to validate your scripts :D

This Saturday I will hold a talk at #fosdem2022 about mainline Linux on mobile phones! Tune in live or watch it later!

Also check out the other great talks in the FOSS on Mobile Devices track!

I assume most of us with a number of years of technology experience all have panic attacks when near printers.
I assume that's perfectly normal.

#fosdem is starting soon!

We're excited to have so many great talks coming up in the FOSS on mobile devices devroom \o/

I'll be talking about @mobian tomorrow at @fosdem :)
Also, make sure you check the full schefule for the "FOSS on Mobile Devices" devroom, lots of interesting presentations in there!

@devrtz

OTOH, are you not happy that their laziness makes it easier to spot them?

@craftyguy @kop316 @martijnbraam

@craftyguy

N00b question derived from my lack of experience with APK, that command is the equivalant of installing a package locally, from outside the repos? Or was this package uploaded to the repos?

"If you want to write fast software, use a slow computer" - Dominic Tarr

I have always loved this quote and lived by its message long before I found it so succinctly put. Thanks again, Dominic.

@exalm@floss.social @brainblasted I have not tested it myself but visually it seems cool, and from the icons, it allows both screenshot and screenrecording?

@pankraz What version of PureOS are you using: Amber or Byzantium? And on what hardware?

We have a new podcast episode out! 🎙️ It's eeh... long.. so if you have an hour to spare and want to learn a bunch about the following, have a listen:

* PinePhone modem updates w/ fwupd
* mainline.space, cross-distro mainlining efforts
* OnePlus 9 (again, close to mainline!)
* Minimalist DHCPD written from scratch for initrd
* wpa_supplicant -> iwd

🔩 Server maintenance due to hardware failure 🔩

Due to hardware failure we need to power down one one of the servers for maintenance (part replacement). We will use this opportunity to power cycle all servers and run some software maintenance on bare metals.

This means there will be short (up to 30minutes) downtime on all services within next 3 hours.

Hokay. I has arrived at the datacenter. Made myself coffee, and preparing to do software upgrade on all physical machines.
