Not sure that I agree. As a long term strategy, yes it is bad, but that doesn't mean that you take it out of your toolbox if things to use. Stealing and intellectual property theft are also bad and protecting citizens from that is one of the true functions of government.
Using tariffs as a strategy to stop unfair trade practices can be seen as our government protecting is from another government.

I see some people pressuring tech companies to build a machine that blocks entire groups from Internet Society. They must be bigger optimists than I am, all I can think of is how such a machine will be abused.

I’m also weird in that I am adamantly opposed to government regulating social media. It’s not a public utility. I’ve heard all the arguments blah blah blah...get government involved they will make it worse and track people. It’s insanity. Everyone uses water and electricity in reality less than 25% use social media on a regular basis. Turbo thinks regulation will help him it will crush him and his mongs.

@jameshjacksonjr @cybette This is actually what is great about the fediverse and specifically what librem has done here. She wants to keep herself in a bubble where she doesn't have to face ideas that she disagrees with and she not only has that right but that ability. Those that disagree with her can keep their voice but it won't be pushed on her without her consent.
