In my case, the issue is struggling with writing computer programs when I should be doing schoolwork. Given that I'm a Computer Science major, this interestingly means that the very thing that could theoretically be my downfall is supposed to be my second greatest success.

Now I look at it, I think the reason I prefer #Mastodon to #Threads is that average Joes are basically invisible on the latter: almost every recommended post I get is from an ‘influencer’ or ‘celebrity’.

At least here the majority of posts in topics I care about are by regular people sharing their interests and having fun.

@copilot@det.social @Gargron Having posts be searchable by hashtag rather than by all of its text is one of the characteristics of Mastodon, so when this feature was added having it be opt-in made sense (thank you so much ). Personally, I like the idea of choosing how my posts are found.
