@MattTheQuick I wonder if I can get an old Barnes & Noble Nook to run ....

@apps I was seeing "%s" show up in some profiles' menus when viewing a profile after using the "GPS" button. Is this related? It did not cause a crash, but I have a video if you want it.

2009, not 2019, lol. Would edit it if social.librem.one kept up-to-date.

@evan @acroll Perhaps using an alternative space character for AI would be better than using alternative letter/etc. characters. That way, programs, spellcheckers, etc. don't need to know a bunch of alternative characters, and only need to know about the space character. And spaces are used in virtually all languages AFAIK

Going to share a few more up-close shots of the new Mastodon merch! I'm happy that we got to incorporate some Mastodon history in the designs. Mind you there's only going to be 250 of each at launch!

@Hyper@discuss.smash.today Sheik dragdowns are always sick ๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ‘‰

Gnome is "rethinking window management". Yet again, yes. I like the actual behavior, but it's always interesting to see new ideas. blogs.gnome.org/tbernard/2023/

@qurlyjoe The verse about forgiving everyone was literal too. I am around a lot of Christians and I have never heard anyone claim that forgiving people was just a metaphor.

(You said forgiving everyone's *debt*, though... could you share a verse reference?)

@davidrevoy I was thinking this was a Majora's Mask reference ๐Ÿ˜„

@CM30 Perhaps servers will adopt a policy where media is only kept for, say, a year, and then deleted. (But where posts are kept indefinitely, as text doesn't take up too much space.) This might work well, if users are informed of the policy.

@fuat2mb I agree. "This team of professional bible scholars interpreted it that this way, but *I* interpreted it this other way" makes me skeptical of whatever follows. The speaker is making a big claim.
I feel the same way when someone uses a politically based hermenutic approach. I think we should leave our bias's at the door as much as possible.

@evan Solid, because that's primarily what we engineer with! :) โš™๏ธ
