@aris Looking at the results so far, you're probably right... lol

@mike if only we had a transparent material to make the cooler comments visible thru a closed door, then this wouldn't be needed.

Some of the doors in the refrigerator section of my local grocery store have been replaced with screens showing the product inside (redundant) and literal ads.

Also, there's a voice assistant coming.

@AudraTran That's terrible. If my local stores do this, I'm going to try wearing shades. Or, I'm going to intentionally look at the things I'm NOT interested in.

Today I wanted to share about the belief that there is some type of “perfect page” formula that must be used to rank highly in Google Search. There isn't, and no one should feel they must work to some type of mythical formula. It’s a belief dating back to even before Google was popular, as I wrote about when I was a journalist in 2000, in the article below. As was the case then, so it remains true now. There’s no perfect formula to follow….

I have 27 windows (10 apps) and 38 browser tabs open. I need to get it together ':)

How about this: how many open windows?

Curious, how many browser tabs do you all have open right now?

(maybe)

If I opened a brick and mortar freedom focused computer store at the mall (think Linux, BSD, System76, Purism, Pine64, etc.), what would you want to see and what would make it worthwhile to shop there?

Commander Dave Scott of Apollo 15 validates Galileo's theory on the Moon by dropping a hammer and a feather, proving that objects fall at the same speed, independent of their mass.

I wonder how Linux distributions will remap the Microsoft Copilot key that's appearing on some new Win11 laptops.

@royal @tal I have a Logitech M570 trackball. I like it!
Note: they have a newer model that can change to a more ergonomic angle. But the M570 is still fairly ergonomic.

You can kind of think of as an with a board game version....

Why do we say wide-eyed when someone's eyes get *taller*?

@johnnesky Weird idea, but what if you store in sRGB, convert to 10bpc linear RGB, and call browser APIs using 8bpc linear RGB with four pixels to an on-screen pixel? Basically the classic downscaling-to-antialias thing but used just to limit the banding effect of converting 8bpc linear RGB to 8bpc sRGB.

@johnnesky Maybe if it's a paletted or low-bits-per-channel (pixel art?) editor where the minimum distance between two colors is greater than or equal to the distance between the darkest colors in linear 8bpc RGB. If that makes any sense; I'm not a colors expert.
