If you're starting a brand new account on a Fediverse server, it's not a good idea to post lots of content before you have followers.
The only people who can see your posts on the Fediverse are those on your server, those on other servers which have at least one person following you, or those who see your post shared.
If you post all your best content up front on a brand new account with no followers, no one outside your server will be able to see it. Even if they follow you later, the posts you made before that will not be visible to them, because Fedi platforms don't backfill old posts on accounts you follow.
It's much better to gradually add content as your follower numbers grow.
You only need one follower from a server in order for everyone on that server to see your post. Even if you only have a dozen followers, that's up to 12 other servers that can see what you post.
(Sorry for repost, I phrased original post really badly!)
@RL_Dane That's the main reason why I use GNOME. Its (over-)simplicity is helpful with focus, as they advertise.
Being an Ubuntu user using GNOME and basic tools, one would think I'm the simpler type of Linux user. Currently I pretty much am, but I used to try many distributions, desktops, window managers, browsers, etc. But maybe someday I'll go back to Arch Linux with sway and my configuration of it.
@RL_Dane So far there isn't a feature for connecting to your phone (that I know of) in a useful way. It has Bluetooth (BLE) and has code for fetching Weather via WiFi though!
@RL_Dane It isn't in the GadgetBridge list of supported devices. Watchy is very DIY, if you want a feature then you can make it yourself, or find someone else's code, and flash the device (over USB). It works with Arduino and PlatformIO. The Discord chat group (https://discord.gg/ZXDegGV8E7) is helpful.
@RL_Dane I'm like that too :(
@RL_Dane The SQFMI Watchy (https://watchy.sqfmi.com/ and https://sqfmi.com/watchy/) is pretty cool. I have one. It is ESP32-based. The Arduino library for it isn't good, and the hardware is okay, but it has a screen, WiFi, and is programmable. I love it.

If you're creating a username on PeerTube, don't use dots (i.e. full stops, periods, points).
Dots in usernames break compatibility with other Fediverse servers, and people won't be able to follow your account from outside PeerTube.
@256 I guess he doesn't know what's going on in the picture either
@asier It seems to me that favoriting something on Mastodon means more than a "like" on other platforms and is therefore rarer. I suppose that this is partially because, depending on how you use Mastodon, you have to authorize each time you favorite a post on a server your account isn't on.
I have been favoriting posts too much, but I'll do better
@splatt9990 @pixelherodev@fosstodon.org He did say "almost certainly true"
Hello there!
I boost a lot of posts, but I have a few things to say every now and then.
I am largely fine with boosting posts from people I disagree with even on significant, dividing issues. I usually don't, however, if they actively advocate for these ideas... so it goes :/
