En sak till: när det gäller politiskt engagerade tycker jag det är värt att trycka på hur principiellt viktigt det är att politiskt engagemang kan pågå utan att det sitter någon och avlyssnar/censurerar folks kommunikation (varken jättestora företag eller staten ska få göra det). Extra viktigt om kommunikationen handlar om politik.

Talking about things like being merciful, turning the other cheek, loving your enemies, and all that blabbering about forgiveness. It is clearly left-wing lunacy, all of it.

For right-wing/conservative folks it is therefore logical to reject the teachings of Jesus.

I take it to mean that the admins/owners of press.coop have themselves setup those accounts, and they promise that they really contain feeds from the real places. If you or I created an account on press.coop and made in into a bot like that, we would not get the badge. Just guessing 🙂

@PINE64 I disagree with @benpocalypse here. In my view there can be clear benefits to having the store accept cryptocurrency, mainly privacy, but that depends on the kind of cryptocurrency you use. Another advantage is that the store's day-to-day operation can function independently of banks.

But why have you chosen the "USD Coin" specifically? Why not Monero (XMR) which would likely be better for privacy?

Another variant of this I guess is that regarding decision making, the most important thing is not the decision that was taken, but the process by which you arrive at the decision.

(Maybe also related to this, I think there is some kind of military principle saying that the most important thing is not what decision you took, but that you were able to take a decision and then act accordingly.)

Den ljusa sidan är att jag tror den här debatten kan ha väldigt bra effekt, åtminstone när det gäller offentliga aktörer. Jag har svårt att se att någon egentligen tycker att situationen vi har nu är bra.

Det finns säkert de som inte tänkt på att det är ett problem, men de förstår nog när man pekar på problemet. Det finns också de som inte förstått att det finns alternativ, men då går det att visa på de fina alternativ som finns.

Det finns hopp 🙂

Det är inte bara att man låses in till en viss tjänst som den där "X" utan också, och värre, att man "måste" använda vissa operativsystem osv för att det är det enda som den stängda tjänsten stödjer. Öppna standarder är det enda rätta.
