The first and most important choice is between "Accept all cookies" and "Customize settings", most people will choose accept all there because it is the quickest way to move on, so they will never see the "confirm my choices" button. They know very well people don't want to be tracked, but trick them into "accepting" all by making it the quickest choice.

I recommend making your argument against the school as an accessibility issue. Probably they are required to make the education accessible to everyone, it is probably not legal for them to exclude you.

Use words like "accessibility" and "inclusiveness" and argue against them "excluding" you, then you have a better chance of being heard, I think.

If you know examples of other schools doing better, point to those as good examples.

Note that there are (at least) two different dates for each commit: the AuthorDate and the CommitDate which may be different. Use e.g. --pretty=fuller to see both dates listed.

It appears that git uses the CommitDate to decide what falls within "last month" when using options like --since=last-month but the date shown by "git log" by default is the AuthorDate, so that is confusing. But I'm sure git developers would consider this not a bug, but a feature. 😉

Next thing I'm wondering then is: can we get this to work without an Internet connection, for privacy? I mean, I would like to have the wifi and modem killswitches off, but still use GPS and plot my path on a map. I guess this is a question about if GNOME Maps can work in offline mode.
