@jonas175 @noelreports Core is most likely glass, but plastic is also possible. The cladding is from a material with a different refractive index, likely some plastic.

From above, it looks like a giant spiderweb, but it's actually the tangled web of fiber-optic lines used by drones. Along the Kupyansk axis, both sides are deploying massive amounts of fiber to guide first-person-view drones, especially in areas where GPS is jammed.

@itsfoss Do Mediatek processors have a secure element?

@noelreports Congrats on the MiG-29. Now, if only those 1240 soldiers preferred leaving to becoming casualties...

@UlrikNyman @noelreports I believe most of the assets are in Belgium and there are rumours that some of the profits stay in Belgium.

Additionally, there are fears that confiscating these assets will scare other foreign investors away and make them invest in US or China instead.

@kubofhromoslav @EUCommission You are talking about the future when AI is actually doing most of the jobs. We are not there yet. AI is still underwhelming, robots still don't repair cars nor build buildings, and people still have to work. The parent post is about handling the situation of today: management automation, remote work, subcontracting, company restructuring, etc.

Ukrainian children abducted by Russia are being sent to military camps in North Korea. Legal expert Kateryna Rashevska told the U.S. Senate that a 12-year-old boy from Donetsk and a 16-year-old girl from Simferopol were taken to Songdowon camp, 9,000 km from home, where they were exposed to militarized training and propaganda.

@TiKXI @EUCommission I agree the AI race participants should agree to slow down and focus more on safety and sustainability, but for now they aren't willing to.

@TiKXI @EUCommission I think the rapid AI development is less about what it can do now (most of which is laughable) and more about what it can do in the future.

@noelreports Huh, I recently wondered why long range drones with AA missiles aren't a thing and it turns out they are. Ukraine could use them against Russian aircraft launching FABs.

@notsoloud @noelreports Yes, I believe the original meaning is still present.

@notsoloud @noelreports I'm not Ukrainian, but as far as I know, it's kind of like the word "bastard" in English. Originally it meant an illegitimate descendant, but nowadays it also means a despicable person. So while підарас can mean "faggot", here it's being used to mean "asshole". (And now a third meaning exists: "a Russian involved in the war on Ukraine".)

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

@Alerymin @EUCommission Don't banks already block payments without 3-D Secure?

Ukraine is demanding nearly 44 billion dollars from Russia for climate damage caused by the war, Reuters reports. Kyiv says the invasion has produced around 237 million tonnes of extra CO2, from fuel use, destroyed industry and wartime fires. It’s the first claim of its kind. Moscow has offered no comment.

Niesamowita historia, jak możemy zostać “wyłączeni” z systemu. Amerykańskie sankcje blokują życie sieciowe i finansowe sędziego Międzynarodowego Trybunału Karnego, który wydał nakaz aresztowania Netanyahu.
