@foone Aren't almanac and ephemerides calculated at the ground and regularly uploaded into the satellites? If that gets interrupted, it may become useless pretty fast.

@bradlinder Hey now, the SoC it uses wasn't even released until 2018, while the wireless card is from 2021 and supports tech that did not exist in 2017 πŸ˜›

Librem 5 is now $999 (a $300 Savings)! Due primarily to the overwhelming demand for the Librem 5, we were able to lower our component costs and are now able to pass that savings onto new customers.

@attie I use Okular for viewing and Xournal++ for adding text and signatures.

One other thing is that developers are rightly mad at Unity.

However, all gamers should also be *extremely* mad at Unity because the only way they can enforce their proposed license is carefully tracking user behavior in a deeply invasive way.

@anathem > got a whole collection of those

You may want to set it free! I'm trying to find some more songs to test it with, but the situation is quite dire. There used to be so many songs on the Internet, but these days it's just a mess full of dead links; seems I have to dig my old hard drives out 😭

unlike google chrome, at least bonzi buddy gave you a dancing monkey in return for running malware that tracked your every move

Unity-inspired attention on Godot

@yuki2501 One of the things I love about emulating older platforms - you can just instantly save and restore the whole machine state at will in the middle of anything πŸ˜‡

alternatives to unity

Reminder that availability & porting of any open-source engine to consoles is only less evident because consoles manufacturers decided their _API_ was sacred & unique & under NDA. First console manufacturer who opens up will see 100+ custom engines avail within a month.

Actually, big thanks to #Unity for elegantly demonstrating a huge part of the risk model of proprietary software.

@FidIsTheOne I went to exbirdsite today just to make fun of Unity. I strive to maintain higher quality of posts than that here 😁

Multiple Render Targets are working - finally. Took me some time to "see" the missing register write in the cmd stream dump.

@dashall At least it's easier to keep the Switch fully powered off when unused - unlike the Switch, I *do* reach for the Deck sometimes, so I get more opportunities to forget to turn it off 🀣

@dimitrisk I'm more of a guitar player and never got comfortable enough with a keyboard, so I have a script on my that plugs in-between two devices and translates the played white keys into any given scale. I can jam live with it quite comfortably πŸ˜‚

Speaking of which, works fine on the phone with pretty good latency! Used it a few times to jam online when the pandemic started 😁

Steam Deck is clearly not made by people who use sporadically! (who would have thought πŸ˜‚)

It doesn't wake up from suspend to shut down cleanly when the battery goes flat. Most of my boots end with "systemd-sleep: Entering sleep state 'suspend'..." in the journal. The battery is probably not entirely happy when staying at 0% more often than not πŸ™ˆ

Writing for a microcontroller while being conscious about heap allocations feels so weird. It's like you get punished anytime you write idiomatic code πŸ˜…
