@anathem > got a whole collection of those
You may want to set it free! I'm trying to find some more songs to test it with, but the situation is quite dire. There used to be so many songs on the Internet, but these days it's just a mess full of dead links; seems I have to dig my old hard drives out π #fretsonfire
@yuki2501 One of the things I love about emulating older platforms - you can just instantly save and restore the whole machine state at will in the middle of anything π
Actually, big thanks to #Unity for elegantly demonstrating a huge part of the risk model of proprietary software.
top 10 computing betrayals: wine (not an emulator) includes code for emulating things https://github.com/wine-mirror/wine/blob/b80ea4153b096970514f86f385a37c9ceaceada2/dlls/ntoskrnl.exe/instr.c#L645
@FidIsTheOne I went to exbirdsite today just to make fun of Unity. I strive to maintain higher quality of posts than that here π
@dimitrisk I'm more of a guitar player and never got comfortable enough with a keyboard, so I have a script on my #Librem5 that plugs in-between two #MIDI devices and translates the played white keys into any given scale. I can jam live with it quite comfortably π
Speaking of which, #Jamulus works fine on the phone with pretty good latency! Used it a few times to jam online when the pandemic started π
Steam Deck is clearly not made by people who use #SteamDeck sporadically! (who would have thought π)
It doesn't wake up from suspend to shut down cleanly when the battery goes flat. Most of my boots end with "systemd-sleep: Entering sleep state 'suspend'..." in the journal. The battery is probably not entirely happy when staying at 0% more often than not π
Writing #Python for a microcontroller while being conscious about heap allocations feels so weird. It's like you get punished anytime you write idiomatic code π #micropython #flow3r #flow3rbadge

get your niche programming jokes about source code hosting, and get them while they're still freshmeat
If I was going to make a 3D game I would use #godot, no question. But for 2D, my engine works great and I know it well because I built it.
@stephann Sure; the post was about "free and open source" though, which it certainly is not.
@djlink Defold isn't open source (it has non-commercial clause). The rest are though π
