The only thing I recently suffered from in KMail was that it was sometimes stopping pulling new messages until akonadi account was restarted, but I think the last time I noticed it was a few weeks ago already so perhaps it got fixed meanwhile.

@linmob Lots of reliability improvements went into e.g. the kernel in the last few months, sadly other distros tend to miss those (Mobian finally got a recent kernel literally a few hours ago, but pmOS is still on an ancient 6.6 release 😔). Still a few things to solve, but yeah, I'm quite happy with what's already achieved!

@linmob Protip: tap somewhere inside the viewfinder to trigger an autofocus cycle (this was a relatively recent addition, easy to miss I guess)

@js @dantalion Actually I have to correct myself, as it turns out "apt-get upgrade" and "apt upgrade" aren't the same (TIL!)

"apt-get upgrade" is the one that's definitely not going to work; "apt upgrade" is better and should work for regular updates most of the time. However, for upgrades between suites you still need to use either "apt" or "apt-get" with either "full-upgrade" or "dist-upgrade", and this applies to both PureOS and Debian.

@js @dantalion dist-upgrade (or full-upgrade, same thing) is the only way that's supposed to work in the first place, even with regular PureOS updates - and that's what the GUI does too. "apt upgrade" is never enough, unless you know exactly what you're doing.

@opensourceopenmind @janvlug libcamera won't produce nice image yet, but it should work nevertheless, so that's likely just some distro misconfiguration that you should be able to debug. Make sure you enable PipeWire support in Firefox in the first place, I don't think it's enabled by default yet.

@opensourceopenmind @etbe Depends on your needs. I use XMPP daily, but I definitely wouldn't want it to scream for my attention. It's supposed to show me the messages when I reach for the phone, not the other way around :P

@etbe @opensourceopenmind It could be better, but it usually manages to go through a day on a single charge, which is far from the point where I'd personally start considering such measures. Are you using system suspend? If not, why?

@zakurzona Wszystko zależy jak się trafi. Ja raczej preferuję przedziałowe, bo oddziałowuje na mnie góra pięć osób, a w bezprzedziale mniej lub bardziej cały wagon. Jednak dużo łatwiej o ciszę i spokój w jednym przedziale niż w całym wagonie.

@dantalion But what are you migrating from/to? What do you want to do in the first place?

This is an installation guide, so it tells you how to start from the clean slate. There shouldn't be a need for a upgrade guide, just upgrade 😜

@dantalion Waydroid has worked for several years now. The package is now included in the PureOS repositories indeed. Coincidentally, Debian has packaged it a few days later as well.

Not sure what you mean by migration guide. Migration from/to what?

@opensourceopenmind @janvlug I hope that PipeWire will let us sort this out better. PulseAudio was very stubborn at considering the maximum available hardware amplification as 100% instead of 0dB, so I had to restrict it from using the whole range to keep it sane :(
