There are still some crucial things missing, such as profiled denoising or proper highlight recovery, but since the performance budget for a still photo is much higher than for a 30 FPS video, there's plenty of room to add more stuff - and most of these 2 seconds are spent reading DNG and saving JPG anyway.
Unlike Glowup, which takes about 30 seconds and lots of RAM to process, this is still just as fast - the photo is developed within 2 seconds from shooting.
To pass some time in a train yesterday, I've copy'n'pasted my recent GPU ISP into Millipixels' postprocessing code to see how it compares with what was already there. Before/after:
It's a pitch deck season. Finally I have 2 personal projects in the making, that I deeply believe in ❤️
and I'm searching for funding.
Keep the faith (for me) 😊
@desttinghim @rebane2001 It's because your browser lets you set different default size for monospace fonts.

@mjdxp @lkundrak Except when it doesn't. Try talking about mobile stuff, you'll get both "ackchyually Alpine isn't GNU" and "but Android is Linux!!1" jerks in your replies. Since Alpine is very much modeled like GNU, and Android is very much not, in my experience it's much clearer to default to "GNU/Linux" as a term to refer to the OS even if not strictly technically correct in all instances. I prefer to be communicative rather than pedantic 😜
@spacemanspiffy ...and this is how it looked straight out of old Millipixels. Some improvements are in the kernel driver though - these aren't so easy to before-after - but most come from how the DNG file is developed.
@spacemanspiffy This one was from glowup because that was the most convenient option I had available on that phone right there. This is what you get when using my recent GPU ISP code - and yes, it is much better than what was there in Millipixels so far 😜
happy #caturday
love the black an white character on a colorful background, like in Karambola :>
I'm currently working on something else, but I need a little motivation boost ;)
Here are some new props for the quirky owl movie. This scene will be much colder, a tough one for the little owl.
But it will all end well ❤️
@pavel @martijnbraam @linmob You would need a more rigorous setup to actually see that non-linearity, what's here is still more of an artifact from averaging bunch of pixels. When you take just a single one, it's below the noise floor.
@pavel @martijnbraam @linmob Same thing, but brighter.
While there will be some tiny non-linearity if you look really close (there are no perfect sensors after all), it's absolutely nowhere even close to 5% and not really something you have to concern yourself with for photography :P
@pavel @martijnbraam @linmob No, that's clipping. My light source was 5% too bright, so you can see that it stays linear up until it clips.
@pavel @martijnbraam @linmob When you take only a few pixels from the center (with G channel clipped at the very top):
