@lkundrak we've been over this. if GNU/linux is the name of the operating system, then what is alpine linux? it doesn't use GNU, it uses busybox instead, so it can't be GNU/linux, but functionally it's pretty much the same operating system as other linux distros which can run the same code, so just calling all operating systems that use the linux kernel "linux" makes the most sense

@mjdxp @lkundrak Except when it doesn't. Try talking about mobile stuff, you'll get both "ackchyually Alpine isn't GNU" and "but Android is Linux!!1" jerks in your replies. Since Alpine is very much modeled like GNU, and Android is very much not, in my experience it's much clearer to default to "GNU/Linux" as a term to refer to the OS even if not strictly technically correct in all instances. I prefer to be communicative rather than pedantic 馃槣
