@vancha Oh okay I guess you will find out 😅 But in my experience a PC needs less power than I most of the time thought 😅
Never? Oh god I have really bad luck with PCs
PC:
-5 power supply defects
-4 HDD defects
-1 mainboard defect
-1 grafics card defect
Laptop:
1 RAM defect
1 SD cardreader defect
1 WiFi module defect
1 mainboard defect
My statistics so far. And all my stuff looks like new because I treat everything like my life depends on it. I don't know what I am doing wrong 😄

@vancha I once bought an enormously expensive Cooler Master power supply with 1000W and I got 4 replacements during the warranty and now after 6 years the last replacement is dead again... A friend bought an extremely cheap power supply at the same time and it is still running... I will never ever spend a lot of mony on power supplies!

Corona Contact Tracing Germany now on F-Droid 🚀

No dependency to Google, no microg app required. Pure open source, built reproducibly.

f-droid.org/packages/de.corona

(This time posting the correct URL 🙂)

@lohang That strongly depends on my needs.
If I want to have an application on a USB Stick to always have it with me AppImage is awesome!
I use Flatpack if I always want the latest version for a special application which is not provided by the standard repo.

@vancha You can stop staring at the moon now! Thanks a lot again! There have been 5 bugs in my calculations... I am not a very good programmer I guess 😂 My lesson:
Python: -1%24==23
C: -1%24==-1

If anyone had a similar problem feel free to provide some tips 😅

Hardware should be open:
I have an USB 4G surfstick (ZTE MF823) which worked perfectly on Linux for over a year. Suddenly it stopped working. However, it still works on Windows. But it doesn't work on any Linux system. I guess it is just a software bug but it is a pain to figure out what is going on because there is absolutely no documentation about this device online... Open Hardware could definitely help to reduce electronic waste!

@vancha @arran
Oh no, I am sorry about that! I know what you mean, I have dyslexia and it has always been a pain to read the descriptions of the tasks in exams... And I often failed because I didn't understood what the question was...
But keep on doing what you like! ;)

@vancha Thanks a lot! Possibility 1 would be much less work for me!!

Possibility 1:
The moon makes a big jump at 1 o'clock.

Possibility 2:
My calculations are not correct.

Librem 5 Mass Production Phone Has Begun Shipping

"Shipping the Librem 5 has been an immense multi-year developmental effort. It is the culmination of people’s desire to see an alternative to Android and iOS..."

Did you notice that the best working GUI on the Pinephone based on Phosh and used by Postmarket OS or Mobian is created by Purism? Do you really think that this would possible by community only? Also Libhandy is crated by Purism. Everyone that bought a Librem 5 also supports the Pinephone.
Maybe you should read a little bit more and then make the IQ test again ;)

The EU seems extremely naive to think that banning E2E encryption could stop criminal activities. This will only harm regular citizens and allows spying by every secret service in the world. Did nobody learn from the and story?
E2E encryption protects civil rights and doesn't harm them.

@geary @gnome @purism Just got the email client running on a Birch. This is a Geary version built from Purism's git repo source.puri.sm/Librem5/geary (I tried the upstream version also but got into trouble with the initial account setup dialog that did not fit the screen). Anyway, glad to see this is working!

I think I found some appropriate equations to calculate the position of the moon (Azimuth +- 0.5° and Elevation +- 1°). I have to test them in further detail but it looks like a good compromise between accuracy and simplicity.
One goal is to keep the number of calculations low for a better performance on mobile devices.

@vancha Haha sounds cool 😅 Good luck! And I should start learning Rust now 😂

@vancha I think this will be the most difficult part to do that reliably ^^

@vancha That's a cool idea. A few years ago I also wrote a Sudoku solver which had also some advanced strategies to solve a Suduko which would not be possible with only checking rows/columns or boxes. If you like you can contact me when you start this project. I would love to contribute some solving strategies ☺

@vancha Haha but I know the struggle of finding an project which is really meaningful. I started 8 or 9 Android apps but never finished a single one because they never have been really useful 😅
But the sudoku solver was still interesting to read on your page and I never knew how extensions work but now I know 😅
