Is someone @purism working on getting the Social app working in iPhone’s dark mode? I can’t see a single thing I’m typing without switching back to light mode.

@ChrisWere@linuxrocks.online @distrotube@mastodon.technology @lunduke I am switching from Android to iOS and need to know if there is an app to subscribe to YouTube channels and manage playlists without signing in to YouTube. I used Newpipe on Android and FreeTube on Linux. Anything similar for iPhone? Peertube and LBRY just haven't come far enough fast enough for me yet, but I hate being constantly tracked.

Wow, we did not expect the level of interest you all have had in the #PineTime!

More info:
- Cost will be approximately 25USD
- Charging dock included in price
- Built-in heartbeat monitor
- Case built of Zinc alloy and plastic
- Battery life measured in days
- Sorry, can't run Linux itself. SoC is nRF52832, which uses a Cortex-M4 core. That's why we need FreeRTOS :)

The @PINE64 PinePhone is real! Here are some recent videos of it running:

:kde: postmarketOS + #PlasmaMobile: youtube.com/watch?v=8V711Iordo

:ubuntu: Ubports Ubuntu Touch: twitter.com/Mariogrip/status/1

🍣 #SailfishOS: vimeo.com/357952216

Even better performance to be expected once all these platforms, now at their earliest stage, are optimized enough.

#linux #SailfishOS #UbuntuTouch #postmarketOS

@ubports @switchingsocial@mastodon.at Out of the short list of Ubuntu Touch (ubports) recommended phones, do any of them work well with Verizon? They are the only decent carrier where I live. I want to have a linux phone by Christmas and I don't know if the Pine Phone is going to work on Verizon. Big Red is notorious for not playing well with smaller phone makers.

@gbryant New name suggestion- The Linux Gnomer. Far more accurate and you get to keep all your TLG artwork!

If only there was a Tech podcast / show that had...

- No Swearing (kid and work friendly)
- No personal attacks ("Be Excellent To Each Other")
- No political attacks (no matter who you vote for, we're friends)
- Lots of nerdy-ness (goofy and serious)

@purism Will a version of @pixelfed be joining the Librem. One lineup? Will it be free of cost like Social or part of the paid offerings?

Sensor calibration settings can be used by apps/sites to fingerprint iOS and Android phones.

We added a "Lockdown Mode" for the Librem 5 which allows you to defend against this.

@switchingsocial@mastodon.at Wow! Big thanks to the switching social community here. I have a lot of options to go explore.

@switchingsocial@mastodon.at I've been able to find acceptable substitutes for Google Docs and for Gmail, but I'm struggling to find a good Google Calendar replacement. I need something that is easy to set up, can sync between a phone and desktop client, and preferably has a free or at least cheap option. What are my options?
