@gbryant New name suggestion- The Linux Gnomer. Far more accurate and you get to keep all your TLG artwork!

If only there was a Tech podcast / show that had...

- No Swearing (kid and work friendly)
- No personal attacks ("Be Excellent To Each Other")
- No political attacks (no matter who you vote for, we're friends)
- Lots of nerdy-ness (goofy and serious)

@purism Will a version of @pixelfed be joining the Librem. One lineup? Will it be free of cost like Social or part of the paid offerings?

Sensor calibration settings can be used by apps/sites to fingerprint iOS and Android phones.

We added a "Lockdown Mode" for the Librem 5 which allows you to defend against this.

@UBports @ubports #ubuntutouch is getting better and better by a strong and friendly community 👍
The dark theme is my favorite 🤩

You can pre-order the Librem 5 smartphone (shipping starts in Q3) for $649.

Price goes up to $699 soon as we prepare for launch.

@ubports Install is very easy: UBPorts-installer takes care of every step, even on phone's end.

That was straightforward! Now to get a sim card into this phone and use it!

Cheers @Ubports ! Ubuntu Touch looks great!

@switchingsocial Wow! Big thanks to the switching social community here. I have a lot of options to go explore.

@switchingsocial I've been able to find acceptable substitutes for Google Docs and for Gmail, but I'm struggling to find a good Google Calendar replacement. I need something that is easy to set up, can sync between a phone and desktop client, and preferably has a free or at least cheap option. What are my options?

You can now unlock the ProtonMail #Android app with your fingerprint! See what other improvements are in the latest version here: protonmail.com/blog/protonmail

People have asked us in the past: why can I trust ProtonVPN? This is a significant question as trust is the most important factor for picking a #VPN service. Here’s why we think ProtonVPN is worthy of your trust: protonvpn.com/blog/is-protonvp

RT @DarknetDiaries: Ep 38: Dark Caracal.

Big thanks to @cooperq and @evacide from @eff on their research and sharing the story! Also great…

I wonder how the upcoming @PINE64 phone is going to compare to older options. Will I be better off flashing something like @ubports to an old Nexus? I really want a phone running FOSS! Will the new Pine Phone come with the same warning as the Pinebook about not using it for daily life? Or will it be more like the Pro- not powerful but definitely usable? I can't afford a @purism Librem 5 which is what I really want. What's my best (usable) sub-$200 option?

~=8 Character Passwords Are Dead=~

New benchmark from the Hashcat Team shows a 2080Ti GPU passing 100 Billion password guesses per second (NTLM hash).

This means that the entire keyspace, or every possible combination of:
- Upper
- Lower
- Number
- Symbol

...of an 8 character password can be guessed in:

~2.5 hours

(8x 2080Ti GPUs against NTLM Windows hash)
