@omgubuntu Personally, I have not had any issues with battery life on Linux. It has more or less improved since I switched. It would be nice, though, if 'every' software centre in Linux received a major overhaul and 'package management' would improve across the board. As of now, we have a gazillion ways to install software and it is getting quite messy. Hopefully, Snappy and Flatpaks will take a more prominent role in providing a solution to this issue. ๐Ÿค”

@omgubuntu Very informative! I personally feel that #6 was the most defining moment in 's history. It create a wave of mistrust about Canonical and Ubuntu as a project. I am glad that things seem to be taking a turn for the better, though. ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

'Big Tech' is ruling over our lives so, when an alternative to YouTube called 'LBRY' arrived, some of us hopped on the band wagon to see where it leads. It has been here for some time now and it still seems to be struggling to deliver the kind of content one would expect from YouTube, Vimeo and other proprietary services. The future of LBRY seems to be bleak. Will LBRY succeed? ๐Ÿค”

@purism Looking forward to see the packages on Debian, especially for Librem Tunnel. Getting it to run is somewhat of a 'herculean task' for a non-tech savvy user. It would also be great if the UI for Librem Chat could be vastly improved and modernised as this will hinder mass-adoption. Keep up the great work!

I wish a merry Christmas to all my followers and everyone on the ! ๐ŸŽ‰ ๐ŸŽ ๐ŸŽ… ๐Ÿ˜„

@JoshStrobl Merry Christmas! ๐Ÿ˜ ๐ŸŽ‰ ๐ŸŽ…

In the wake of digital privacy becoming more important to users, organisations are forced to rethink their business models that are primarily based on surveillance capitalism. The issue for many organisations is that they are accountable to their shareholders first, which leads to a conflict of interest. What can be done about this? We must use tools from organisations that put the users' needs first, like NPOs and SPCs. Hopefully, more companies will be inpired to follow them. ๐Ÿ˜

@protonvpn This is very concerning. This type of behaviour may result in a trend, where ISPs and other organisations block privacy-oriented tools. If you are an aforementioned user, please lodge a complaint. Encourage more people to take their digital privacy seriously in a peaceful manner. We must not allow this type of behaviour to continue. ๐Ÿ˜€

@ironmonkey @Tutanota Indeed. Quantum computers may be single biggest threat to mass surveillance in the future. Way to go, ! ๐Ÿ˜

Here's an awesome security tutorial. Look out for Tutanota at 12:37 - looks like he's using our secure email service. ๐Ÿ˜ƒ๐Ÿ‘‡

@omgubuntu I don't agree with every choice. Nevertheless, these distributions do have potential. It's great to see how far this community has come from where we were. ๐Ÿ˜

@omgubuntu 'Drawing' is really an app that should have come a long time ago. It's great that the Linux community is continuing to make even more leaps to bring Linux closer to the average Joe.

The poll has ended and the results are in. While Firefox was what everyone voted for, there is hardly enough votes (only 11 votes) to make viable conclusions. However, Firefox is a commendable privacy-friendly browser. It is with open APIs, comes with 'Enhanced Tracking Protection' by default and is a generally fast browser. Just remember to follow this guide: blog.privacytools.io/firefox-p.

@lunduke The link you have provided to the post on Patreon is incomplete and it appears that the video has still not been uploaded on . ๐Ÿ™

With a rise in digital privacy awareness, more and more web browsers are trying to market themselves as secure and privacy-friendly. Which one do you think has actually succeded in respecting your privacy the most? Leave a comment as to why you chose it. ๐Ÿค”

@kyle It was quite difficult to justify the price. However, it is now understandable as to why you would want a considerable profit margin with a phone that is built to last. I commend you for this effort. Keep going! ๐Ÿ‘ ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

@protonvpn Three cheers for giving a well rounded and impartial view on how to protect your online identity! ๐Ÿ˜ ๐Ÿ‘

@omgubuntu While @elementary have made quite a beautiful OS, I personally feel it is a bit too restrictive. I prefer having more control. I would also like to mention that it does need a bit more polish and tighter integration with non-native apps. Apart from that, the OS itself shows a lot of potential. ๐Ÿ˜€

@omgubuntu This move will hopefully give the steady revenue stream it has been looking for. If this is a success, it will allow to improve the desktop and avoid monetizing it in ways considered controversial in the world.
