Now that I have a printer that can print flexible filaments again, I've been able to try out a few TPU cases for my Librem 5 (I modified a Librem 5 slim model to remove most of the back). I tried printing face up and face down with supports to see what worked best for my printer.

I think I'm leaning toward the red case, although I do have some old black Ninjaflex I might try out later.

Read why "Web Environment Integrity" is terrible, and why we must vocally oppose it now. Google's latest maneuver, if we don't act now to stop it, threatens our freedom to explore the Internet with browsers of our choice: u.fsf.org/40a #EndDRM #Enshittification #Google #WebStandards #DefectiveByDesign

switching to the #librem5 was one of the most liberating decisions this year. Even with all the little earlier adopter issues and inconveinces. I have developed a lot of tricks, workarounds and solutions. Wonder if I should write a blog post about them..

Some exciting news:

With the help of a tester (thanks kyeh!), #mobilelinux though vvmd/vvmplayer ( gitlab.com/kop316/vvmplayer ) finally supports Visual Voicemail on all major US carriers!

If you have an MVNO on any of the major carrier, you should be able to easily check if the parent settings work for you. If they do, *please* make an MR in gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/mobile- so we can officially support more carriers!

This is a weird request, but I figure the worst I can get for it is silence. I'm totally #blind and have very bad hearing. To set up a device through its inaccessible software, I'm in need of a sighted person for about an hour and a half to two hours who can access a computer remotely, speaks and reads English, and can describe images and graphs. The person needs to be quite patient with follow-up questions, needs to be willing to repeat if needed, as well as be able to click on items and describe what happens on the screen. The person needs to be fairly detail oriented because some of the images appear to have arrows and other ways to expand them, according to the manual. Though I'm happy to be reasonable, I have no clue how much to offer as payment, this is my first request of this kind. I'm posting it because I know we have some blind people here who may be able to point me towards someone who has done this before and may be willing to do it for such a short period. Boosts welcome, indeed, they're appreciated. #hearingimpaired #software #A11Y #accessibility #remote

Last week I talked to the guys from The Changelog podcast about Debian and it's 30th birthday, it's now up at:

https://changelog.com/podcast/553

I haven't had the courage yet to listen to it myself, hopefully their producers managed to make something coherent from my usual Debian babbling :-)

@patrick Very true, but I'd be willing to add a few hundred bucks for such an option (if it's USB-connected)

An m.2 connector (and proper antennas already built into the chassis, which is likely a costly investment as well) for a USB-connected modem like the BM818 used in the @purism #Librem5 would be just perfect (see, I'm daydreaming again!)

I could of course deal with an external USB modem, but that's another device to carry (and not forget to pack), which I'd rather avoid

There is a long standing issue in (the compositor used with (but as I recently learned also other projects like ) that makes windows flip their size when crossing a screen edge (as tiling is (incorrectly) kicking in). This makes dragging windows around in docked mode harder than necessary.

This is about to improve and (thanks to the ground work over the past months) we can also add some visual feedback:

I've *finally* found the fix for telephony audio on the #librem5 runnig #nixos!
All I needed was the librem5.pa configuration for pulse audio from @purism's upstream repository to correctly add the modem as source/sink.

Sure, Android might be "Open Source" good luck trying to tweak part of the core system without having to build and re-flash the ENTIRE OS, and probably format your phone.

Android was not built to be modified by anyone who doesn't use the term "end user" on a near daily basis.

and like, damn girl, we can do better than this
