After finally attempting to rescue my long broken #Librem5 devkit, I ended up with it booting into this Feb 2020 image. It already somewhat resembles the current thing, but gosh, we sure have made a lot of progress since then! 😁
Excuse the white balance being all over the place, this was *not* shotonlibrem5 ;)

During the proliferation of the internet in the 1990s, the internet was decentralized enabling free trade and commerce on an equal basis where content creators were free to publish anything at will.

Surveillance Capitalism has led to internet centralization and is the reason why monopolistic tech giants that include Google, Apple, Microsoft, Amazon, and Meta (Facebook) control access to the internet while dominating internet commerce and trade. https://puri.sm/posts/free-yourself-from-surveillance-capitalism-with-the-liberty-phone/?mtm_campaign=status_update&mtm_source=organic&mtm_medium=librem_social&mtm_content=ls-free-yourself-from-surveillance-capitalism-with-the-liberty-phone

PureOS 10.3 Power Optimization
With PureOS 10.3, power saving and new goodies is the name of the game.
With the recent advancements and proliferation of AI (such as ChatGPT and other probabilistic algorithms), it may be time for individuals, companies and governments to consider exiting the centralized internet.
There is high concern over security, privacy, and safety threats exposed by artificial intelligence pioneers and industry voices who have recently come forward including Alphabet’s (Google) Geoffery Hinton referenced there as the “Godfather of AI”.
It has been some time since we last published a global product report for the Librem 5 phone. This is not because of slowing down our development effort, it is the opposite. We have been very busy and we have made substantial progress during the last few months.
The new Librem Server features a 9th generation Intel Core i7 processor with 8 Cores and 12MB of cache. It can get up to 128GB of DDR4 RAM. It also features 6 USB 3.2 ports, a slim optical disk drive, 2 internal drive bays, and 4 “hot-swap” 3.5 SATA 3.0 bays directly accessible from the front panel.
It brings me great joy to announce the elevation of a longstanding Purism employee to the critically important role of Director of Product—François Téchené—the second employee hired to Purism.
According to a new report from Secureworks, endpoint attack vectors that include email, popular operating systems, and apps are on the rise.
In response to attacks by way of Android apps, Google has removed thousands of nefarious apps that had the capability to launch malware enabling developers to launch a wide array of attacks including Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks, Man-in-the-Middle (MitM), and Ransomware attacks.
Purism is excited to announce that anyone who owns a qualified smartphone can port their voice and data services, including their existing phone number, to Purism by purchasing the Librem AweSIM, a VPN for cellular like service.
Unlike AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, MetroPCS and Cricket, Purism’s Librem AweSIM does not support unified customer identifiers based on customer account information (name, address, billing information) or unique identifiers on your mobile devices.
In today’s connected world it is nearly impossible to purchase a secure smartphone that is made in America.
As a matter of fact the most popular smartphones on the market are made overseas such as the Apple iPhone and Samsung Galaxy smartphones.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE- Purism has added a new model to the Librem L1UM product line with new hardware designed to protect infrastructure, including critical infrastructure.
It has been reported by TechRadar and other publications that over 100 million devices, such as smartphones, have been infected with an intrusive adware that operates in the background without the knowledge of the device owner and/or end user.
