At least not in its current form, probably we'll see something close to the dissolution of the Soviet Union, it still means dark times ahead, probably for decades, and we may see another iteration of this, probably it falls apart into a dozen of smaller states — I don't know. Probably in some of these states even worse people will come to power, but they'll have neither inclination, nor capacity to carry out such atrocities.

@DotardTed That is if Russia survives! Not many agree with me in Russia and abroad, but I believe this state will not survive losing this war. Don't get me wrong, I don't believe in people rising up either, just the economy spiraling down — TikTok kids won't be able to go back to living in mud huts. The repression machine is there, but the level of incompetence on every level is astounding. The war only accelerated this country on its path to caving in.

@book I get it, you are very skeptical about your own government and being critical of them is a right thing, but rooting for the guy who opposes them just out of spite is probably not the best strategy. Just because he's in a different camp doesn't mean he's a nice guy, he might bee even more of an asshole.

Some of you western guys are delusional about what is it like in Russia. Russia fighting for its interests is total bullcrap. Does the one who lives in Vladivostok or Yekaterinburg or even in Kazan care about having more land in the European part? Putin's interest — okay, but Russia's interest? 🤷

Putin has a nice image because a lot of money is being spent on that image. Despite that he's not a nice family man — no one even knows where that family is, all we have is rumours. A thief — he's a thief alright, probably the richest man on earth.
Yelstin did have a poor image, yes, but he had free press to mock him, Putin doesn't have to, he has a propaganda machine and most critical of him have a habit of dying.

I am Russian and I see this not being ashamed with my own eyes. It's total propaganda bullshit — people will wake up and realize that "deterring NATO aggression" and "upholding traditional values" was a load of crap, but the fact that they have a ruined economy, African level (except for a few big cities) healthcare and dysfunctional institutions is quite real.
I agree with you though,if Russia survives his successor is probably going to be worse

Не обязательно при этом всех «принимают» — но если кого-то нужно, легко. Взяли же какого-то оппозиционного активиста, который поехал в другой город и решил отдохнуть — в самом деле, ну не в кустах же они дежурили его ждали.
Помню закон принимали, чтобы можно было результаты из поисковой выдачи удалять — а зачем, если на каждом углу контакты написаны 😅

@caralice Да он вроде симпатичный достаточно, при чём на всех платформах, кроме Android — там как-то прокрутка неестественно ощущается, для Android мне больше нравится Buran. В Lagrange мне не нравится только то, что эмодзи не цветные.
Из TUI мне больше всего нравится Amfora — тут эмодзи могут и цветными быть, если терминал их поддерживает.
