I'm not familiar with this particular case, but making open statements in support for Ukraine is often dangerous if your company and your team is in Russia, it can put these people in danger so that might be understandable.

It didn't happen in the first days with the amount of tanks that could've just steamrolled Kyiv not because of modern anti-tank weapons donated by the UK and not because of sheer incompetence that made the long tank columns stuck in the mud, but because Putin was too kind 😏

I can imagine real person using that if he's interviewed on the street — there were cases of being persecuted for that and people are reluctant to say "war". But if you use "special military operation" in a Twitter comment. Using an account that is hard to trace to real person! In English! That doesn't fucking look natural at all 🤣

@book Well, of course I'm biased, but if you live here it's not that hard to tell what's grassroots and what's not. Especially with propaganda — it's the use of certain language and following the agenda closely. Real person doesn't act like that — they do pick that vocabulary off the TV, but they don't speak like that all the time and they don't switch topics like there was no yesterday 🤷

@book Oh yes, and especially the so-called war reporters (a special kind of propaganda outlets)! Not everyone is fond of this Z though even here in Russia, sometimes it's even hated upon. Not openly — no one wants to get reported to the cops who are eager to persue you for it instead of dealing with real crime. I've seen a fair share of photos of car windows with Z plastered upon them smashed.

Z for Zapad (West in Russian), V for Vostok (East), there was O (Central district?) in use in the beginning, but I don't see that often nowadays.
Then apparently someone decided that sticking to Z would be a good idea and they went with it.

Мне кажется, надо так же, но на языке страны размещения вакансии и без ссылки на закон, если такового нет.
