@safiuddinkhan AFAIK there is a more open custom ROM called GerdaOS. I was thinking of getting myself one of these phones — they have 4G and can act as an access point, and that's about the only thing I really need in a cell phone 😅
There was a Matrix app too so maybe it's usable on its own, it didn't support calls and encryption at the time, but maybe it does now.

I was just making a script to update openvpn configuration files and halfway through it I did "ls ~/bin" to find out the name of another script I intended to call from the one I was making and guess what? The script for updating .ovpn-files was already there 😂

@gemlog@tilde.zone I've backed up a folder once using Windows' xcopy. Turns out it has two different parameters for traversing the directory structure and for copying files recursively, in my case it only copied the directory structure without the files. Nothing of value was lost, but it was a bummer 😅

It's actually pretty scary that most people take for granted that most stuff on the interwebs is free and think of ad revenue as a default.
Take Telegram for example, people use it to send video, music, etc. It has to cost huge sums to operate, yet the ads are nowhere to be found, so where does that money come from? Yeah, sure, your messages are safe and secure! Encryption, you know.
At least they have premium accounts now so it's a bit more believable.
