@kaede Long bus rides are great! That was my preferred way to read Ulysses by James Joyce: I was buying a bus ticket and went for a long ride, if I got tired from reading, I could just fall asleep and no one cared — it was long time ago, there was no COVID or possibility to get conscripted, and I felt a lot safer in Moscow in general at that time. Waking up in another part of the city does feel surreal, it's the same with trains, but usually can't just go home easily after that 😊

@Arcana And it's getting worse, many "desktop" apps are just websites running in Chromium, WTF! 🤬

@worthlessbums
When was the last time you left your apartment? Maybe all of them are Zs now🧟

@ducksauz Newspaper might attract unwanted attention. These might do a better job!
@molly0xfff

@lanodan I did install on one of my machines. It was my mac and it was ~15 years ago. I think in-browser cryptography was nearly non-existent at that point and it was required for digital signatures to work in some banking web app. I hope that doesn't count 🤫

@evelyn
Pretty damn close!
I know this was most probably a movie reference. I think I watched it in the 90-ies but I don't remember it… like at all 😅
@victor@xirion.net @aetios

@lanodan
Out of twelve?! What does this progress bar even me…
And then I remembered that you see this message during Java installation. I haven't seen this window FOR A WHILE 😊

@thor
At least you've made them click bicycles! And boats. Serves them right! 😏
@aliteralraccoon

@Jessica At least he doesn't have a tail, unlike Zuckerkorn! Or… wait, maybe he does 😱

@g1comics Likert scale armour!
(Online survey resistance +100)

@thor My French press got broken and I can only brew tea in the cup right now. This makes me a sad panda 🐼

@thor This is precisely what I like about Fedi 🤣
I like to keep online interactions and "real" life separate. But yes, that's me.
I don't think that people here have a narrow set of interests, that's simply not true, but they share a very particular mindset. If having that mindset isn't important for your potential friends/dates, I think you might have better luck looking elsewhere 🤷

@DeveloperMemes
> penetration software
This might seem a bit controversial to some parents 😅

@ThatCrazyDude
Make a vim plugin like autopep8 do it for you 🤷
And yes, Python is great! It's great as a scripting language and it's great for prototyping more serious stuff, I find it odd that it didn't take off as a tool for web development. As for the picture in the opening post, I think Django happened later than Ruby on Rails, Pylons too, but maybe I was too late to the game. Python is still popular as it's being used for machine learning, big data and all that.
@GluedToTheScreen

@bortzmeyer
What do you mean? They most definitely were in control, they're the 80s ladies! 😍
@benoitb @eiZen

This pumpkin is awesome! I didn't even have to scrub the insides, it just peeled off like it's an orange. This is the first time I see something like this. And it smells wonderful! 😋

@thor Foxes are sly, they'll make you feel suspicious of everyone 🦊
Not a good choice for a paranoid person like me, but otherwise a great idea!

@thor Make a client-side js that replaces these with random pictures of capybaras 😆

What is the point of being pedophiles in their position? I always thought that this comes from the fact that children are easier to impress, but shouldn't they, being part of the New World Order, have a lot more to bring to the table than mere mortals? 🤔
They can definitely afford more grown-up lovers.
