@thor Oh, yes! Happens all the time. You think of some crazy idea, try looking up hints of how to cook some of ingredients you might need halfway… Only to realize the what you originally came up with isn't too uncommon 😆
@enduser@berserker.town
> Guns aren't the problem. Mental health is the problem.
That's the whole point! It's not about guns at all, but about poor mental health.
And yes, I got what you were talking about, but it might end up in violence if what troubles children doesn't get tended to early on, especially if they get shamed and punished instead.
@thor I think I combine both approaches, but yes, improvising is important. I think the one who's not up to culinary experiment must be a very boring person.
Soups are particularly fun — I did a lot of weird stuff when I was living in the country during COVID summer and my friends were bringing lots of food they ended up not eating: soup based on instant soup, but with veggies and meatballs made out of leftover cutlets; cheese and mushroom soup because I didn't want them in their original form…😂
@thor 🇷🇺 I think I lean toward Eastern European stuff, but I'm not too picky.
No offense to the sausage soup, I did like the final result, but it did look like you were trying to get something out of the ingredients you've had (and you were). Today's lunch looks like something planned in advance — that's it.
@thor That's a serious improvement over sausage soup 😄
Not that I didn't like the sausage soup, TBH it looked way better than I was expecting.
@noelreports Of course it doesn't mean that younger Russians aren't brainwashed in a similar way — they are. There is a whole bunch of 20+ year olds who have never lived in the USSR, but think its dissolution was wrong. And a different crowd who supports GOP — nothing wrong with that per se, but they also didn't live in the US in 1957 and they have no idea what they are talking about. They are the real problem! Not this old woman who has influence on literally nothing.
@noelreports I've seen this video in the morning and I think it's kinda manipulative to make any conclusions based on her words. She's just an old woman living in poor conditions who has little to no social interraction so she's happy to retell word-by-word what she heard on TV. Did you really expect fresh and thorough outlook on international matters? If she lived in a different country, she'd probably have three dozens of cats and tell you how the UFO kidnapped one of them a week ago 🤷
@gemlog Kissinger on the other hand was a total disappointment spouting that Cold War era nonesense just last year, how the West should promise Puting there'd be no NATO at Russia's border. Wake up, old man, it's 2020s out there, there is no Soviet Union anymore and while Putin might have used that nonesense as a pretext, he doesn't give a flying fuck about NATO, all he wants is to stay in power. What a disgrace!
@publius
@gemlog He's an asshole alrite! But he did have a bright mind, he did what was in US interests even if that involve supporting total assholes all around the world, and he stayed in his right mind till his very death. His words about Russia's actions in Ukraine in 2014 were spot on:

@james@mstdn.starnix.network I think @splitshockvirus has to put the holographic sticker with elephant on it on the server to qualify 🤣
@neural_meduza Мы! 🍻
@neural_meduza Когда обзор от Батикова?
@gemlog
There are a bunch of counterexamples, Afghanistan being the most recent one. USSR and US made a mess that will turn into a major international clusterfuck pretty soon, then US is like: "Oops, I'm outta here!", again betraying their allies and leaving people behind and what's left of USSR now commits to trade agreements with Taliban, while still considering them terrorists — you can't mention Taliban in Russian press without noting they are a terrorist organisation. What?! Yes!
@publius
@gemlog
>Really, I think he is desperate for a Good Guy - a hero - and one doesn't exist.
Exactly! People grow up thinking things are black and white, but… they never are 😔
> benevolent world policeman
Not at all! Just like regular cops (you know, I LOVE boys in blue 😆) most of the time they do outrageous shit, but sometimes they do solve problems. And these are a couple of examples of US actions that are often badged as pure evil, while… they are not!
@publius
@gemlog Sorry for using my other account to reply, I just didn't want to split it into five parts 😄
@useless_idiot
Do these people exist?! For real? 😮

None
Just in case: DMs/PMs simply don't exist on this instance as concept — don't use them, use the other instance if you absolutely have to, or send an email to any address at m0xEE.Net or .Com or .Org, but I prefer keep most communication public.
