It's frustrating when the joke is really funny, but no one gets it because of the reference. And you are like: "Guys, come on! This is not a Proust quote, it's not called POP-culture for nothing!"
My references are too obscure at times, even close friends don't get it, so I came up with this strategy of implementing workplace memes™. This way you can have fun with your colleagues and make sure they get your jokes.

@murks This happened to me a lot. You do not receive an offer for the position you wanted most so you go for the "backup" you had in mind. And it turns out that the "backup" is better than what you've aimed for! One time I even knew next to nothing about the company I was going to work for and found out that it wasn't that bad at all, a serious player in their field 😅

@twinkle does it have a file to set security policies like sudo does? doassers? 😅

@safiuddinkhan@fosstodon.org I have a Toshiba Satelite 4600 Pro laptop somewhere that has 5 OSes installed: Plan9, Windows 2000, Haiku, Ubuntu and QNX. No VMs, they run on real hardware, that's what I call multiboot! 😂
I had a PCMCIA 2G modem in it so I could take it outside and browse the web using this fine piece of equipment. Too bad one of the hinges broke and I can't do that anymore — the looks they gave me were priceless 🤣

I think I've also had a printed copy of Linux NAG (Network Administrator's Guide). Oh, and some Kernel Internals book from kernel 2.0 times.
I still prefer reading printed books, but back in the day reading stuff online using a smartphone wasn't even a viable option option, screens were small and… bad. Linux book was a great way to entertain yourself when using public transportation or smth.

@Rezard Случайно вчера наткнулся на диаграммы Венна и понял, что вот оно, предельно корректное название таких схем:

В данном случае, когда всё со всем пересекается, схематичное изображение с помощью кругов Эйлера бы выглядело так же, но в более общем случае, они могли бы быть расположены совершенно иначе. В случае же с диаграммами Венна, всё бы осталось также, но отсутствующие пересечения были бы закрашены.

@syscrash@linuxrocks.online No, I've meant SVG or something like that. So it can be resized in a lossless way like an actual logo. But I know it would be really hard to do without losing detail, so it was half-joke 😅
