@gbrnt@mastodon.technology @mntmn I've seen some photos of that display showing the overall battery percentage, in other photos I've seen it display the voltage of the individual LiFePo cells contained within.

@PINE64 I am excited to hear about that you guys are planning to make a USB-C dock! The new dock should work with Linux phones like the Pine Phone and Librem 5 right (well, once the software stack is in place)?

Thanks to work of @purism kernel team and ongoing upstreaming efforts, getting new kernels to run on the Librem 5 is a breeze! This is running the freshly released 5.7-rc1 with ~100 patches on top; some of which are already queued for 5.8.

@kyle Too bad I don't have my Librem 5 yet... It seems like the concept is more relevant than ever.

after intensively dealing with linux kernel internals for 3 days i have to say it is a remarkable piece of software, clearly one of the most important pieces of software that exists.

i could see that there could be a “next level” post-unix but it would have to be a totally different paradigm in terms of programming languages used. linux pretty much maxes out the “age of C” IMHO

@kyle Thanks for sharing! That was cool to read about but wow, the level of dedication required.

If you made it this far, thank you! Live posting this felt kind of like having you here with me in while I brewed during lockdown. Also thanks to Grainfather for making my brew day so much simpler and about 2 hours faster!

LPT : forget about the bad news and work on a fun project like @PINE64 #pinetime.

Here's my latest achievement : time synchronization and BLE notification from a Linux computer to the Pinetime.

This is the beginning of a Linux companion app for the Pinetime, yay!
