I've seen a lot from the @eff on #censorship lately, about #facebook and such.
One thing about alternatives, such as #mastodon and #peertube, is we are not forced to speak a certain way to stay "on the air". This suppresses #diversity, and freedom of thought.
Those in power wants to #program us. I recently remembered this montage about #fakenews from a few years ago, and the "need" for FB/etc to censor.
There are serious problems with platforms’ moderation practices, but the problem isn’t liberals silencing conservatives. The problem is the powerful silencing the powerless. https://www.eff.org/deeplinks/2020/10/online-content-policy-modernization-act-unconstitutional-mess

Adventures of porting postmarketOS to the Librem 5
"I’ve been longing to drop the shackles of Android ever since I made the decision to stop using my Nokia N900. Nokia had given up on Linux phones, and it was clear that there would be no further security patches for my favorite smartphone of all time. "

Less hacks when driving an external screen with the #Librem5: you can see how the monitor picks up the video signal when the yellow led on the external screen turns to blue and the external mouse is detected when the cursor appears on #phosh's lock screen in the upper left corner (and yes, i need better video equipment):
A solution that requires students to surrender the security of their personal biometric information and give over video of their private spaces is no solution at all. https://www.eff.org/deeplinks/2020/08/proctoring-apps-subject-students-unnecessary-surveillance
