If you love the “tranquility of servitude” better than freedom, “Go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen.”

― Samuel Adams
@Jdogg247 I’m not getting the vaccine and I am ready and willing to literally physically die if the government wants to cross that line in the sand.

Imagine if you could file a digital restraining order against tech companies. If a creepy person follows you any time you leave your house, looks through your mail, and watches you from the street whenever you're at home, you can legally make them stop. Why not companies?

Audacity updated their Privacy Policy and it looks concerning: to include selling personal user related data (including what they say w/be "hashed ip address").

I cover the privacy policy and offer 4 different potential solutions to restrict Audacity here in my latest post:

If I could help computer users understand one thing it would be that unless something changes, their future computer will be locked down like their phone, so they can only install software if the OS vendor approves. I talk about this in a new blog post: puri.sm/posts/the-future-of-co

For the first time, the U.S. has used its power to globally block news/propaganda websites on the Internet. We began blocking #Iranian news sites last week and redirecting them to an FBI warning. This is very unwise.
"You don't need a gun because the government can destroy you" is the best case for the second amendment any president has ever made

Are mass software updates abused in the name of "security”? All software updates can be done where it respects the freedoms and civil liberties of humans says Purism founder, Todd Weaver. What do you think?🤔 Read more: puri.sm/posts/software-updates

Hi all, Geary is looking for a co-maintainer!

@mjog doesn't have enough time to to do it all by themselves any more, and so is looking for a hand in taking care of day-to-day tasks such as bug triaging and fixing, and working on improving the front-end side of the app in particular.

If you're interested, take a look at the issue tracker, and pitch on in!

If you have any questions, please thread them below or get in touch with @mjog 👇

Cheers!
