It is much more difficult to hide backdoors in free software, especially long-term, writes President of Purism, Kyle Rankin (@kyle) in his new post ✍️ https://puri.sm/posts/freedom-from-coercion/

I have also been waiting for mine for over three years. While, I get that they are working to get caught up, I would not recommend ordering one until they have stock on the shelf.
Exciting times! I'm entering the next stage in my journey to bring freedom, security and privacy to more people by assuming the role of President of @purism! https://puri.sm/posts/as-purism-grows-founder-ceo-todd-weaver-transitions-role-of-president-to-kyle-rankin-vice-president-to-nicole-faerber/

After the abysmal failure that the government response to Covid has been, I find it hard to believe that there are still people out there that want the government to be in charge of healthcare.
@hamblingreen
Yep, I have it on the pinephone also. Haven't used it for podcasts yet. Just recently found out it could do podcasts.
@LinuxLounge
I use newsboat. It is a terminal based rss feed reader, so you get just the text. No ads or pictures.
It's hard to believe it's been a year since I replaced my personal computer with a #Librem5 and laptop dock. In this post I talk about my impressions, the docks I've tried, and using my Librem 5 as a tablet. https://puri.sm/posts/my-first-year-of-librem-5-convergence/
Matrix is seeing significant uptake in Ukraine 🇺🇦, as covered by @politico@twitter.com on Thursday: https://www.politico.com/newsletters/morning-tech/2022/03/02/biden-pushes-congress-on-privacy-in-sotu-00013101. Huge kudos to @CenoBrowser@twitter.com for providing local deployments to allow secure comms even if connectivity to the wider internet is disrupted.
Haha, it's very optimistic to only expect $4.00.
@Secftblgirl
of course, the first line implies the context that it was a joke.
@hamblingreen
nice read

I actually agree that we should go to war with Russia over Ukraine (while also protecting our borders.) However, we should only go to war if we plan on fighting to win. Which means dropping a nuke on Moscow on day 1.
We believe people should have secure devices that protect them rather than exploit them. To that purpose, we provide everything you need in a convenient hardware and software product. We offer high-quality hardware and software with a focus on privacy, security, and freedom. If you want to live a digital life, avoiding Google, here are our suggestions. https://puri.sm/pages/alternatives-to-google-services/

The difference is one spends more money the other spends less.
@Secftblgirl
Commercial fertilizer maybe. There is still a lot of natural fertilizer in the US that works as good or better than commercial.
#FirefoxESR on #PureOS on the #Librem5 has (finally) been updated to 91.6. This renders the installed firefox-esr-mobile-config package non-working, but while we're waiting for an update to land, you can (assuming you have git and build-essential installed) just do the following:
`git clone https://gitlab.com/postmarketOS/mobile-config-firefox`
`cd mobile-config-firefox`
`make`
`sudo make install`.
Firefox may need one (or more) restart, but after that it should look like in my photo:

Did I sleep through WW3?
