I use newsboat. It is a terminal based rss feed reader, so you get just the text. No ads or pictures.
@jlcrawf +1 to this, bonus points if you use newsboat on your #pinephone. podboat, the built in podcast player, is a nice added bonus

Yep, I have it on the pinephone also. Haven't used it for podcasts yet. Just recently found out it could do podcasts.
I just tried newsboat based on this. I am a total fan of it for RSS!
@kop316 i'm glad! another similar tui program i use on the pinephone is Toot, like newsboat but for mastodon.
@jlcrawf I never got on with using terminal software, but thankfully most RSS feeds are text only, with the occasional image
