Upscaler is a new GTK4/libadwaita app that can upscale low-res images using AI

Alright it's ready! The "Gauss Speedway".
I prototyped this months ago, and now finally did the re-spin into a better package without the mess of wires.
- Controlled by an STM32F051 on the back running #RustLang.
- Designed in #kicad, with my CurvyCad python library
- The cars are 3D printed, with 2mm diam. axial magnets glued in
- Gratuitously featuring my first ever #blender animation
I'm really good at making typos so I revisited the text-completion support in #phosh's osk-stub and added a completer based on the #presage library and trained it with a German text from @gutenberg_org and was surprised how well that works. 1/2
This is worse. #GitHub #Copilot copypastas code into new project with absolutely no attribution or licensing, and people testing it have proven that it copies entire snippets (multi-line) of code, regardless of license.
It was trained on ALL of GitHub, no matter what license the code was in.
So, it basically becomes a way to launder FOSS code into proprietary projects.
SO not ok.
I don’t know if this will help anyone, but:
Mastodon: Help for the Frustrated User!
https://youtu.be/EQLfMLtqWEw
A key thing I've learned about Mastodon: When you find people you know and want to keep up with, don't just follow them — add them to a list!
Merely following is not enough, b/c their posts may not show up in your feed at a time you're logged on. Unlike FB or Twitter, Mastodon has no algorithm to resurface your friends' posts from hours or days ago.
So create a list called "Friends" and check it when you're on. This will ensure that you see what they posted while you were away.
If you download your Twitter archive it arrives wrapped as a static HTML page, which is not very useful for doing anything with, and worse: it requires the original account to be still active to do useful things like enlarge the images since they use t.co links.
So here's a Python script to convert a Twitter archive to markdown or other formats: https://github.com/timhutton/twitter-archive-parser
Now you can archive your tweets in any way you want.
📈 Donations through Liberapay have jumped up a bit this week, as hundreds of you have started financially supporting the Mastodon and other Fediverse instances you have accounts on. As a result, we've reached new all-time highs: the number of accounts actively giving or receiving money through Liberapay has crossed the 10k threshold, and the weekly sum of active donations has risen above €15k.
Your Mastodon feed won't improve through passive engagement. There is no algorithm to suggest and share what you liked.
You must actively follow different people to see what they boost, and you must boost for other people to see. Some people are from different servers. You will see more of what they see organically. You can also hashtag to increase visibility.
There is no quote retweet either. You have to actively engage and comment in the thread.
🐧📜 Looking for Linux kernel posts on the #Fediverse?
Here's a list of Mastodon profiles that I follow. You can import this CSV file into your account and then view the list feed yourself:

an interesting aspect of LS1028A is that unlike the i.MX8 family, it does not need binary firmware to initialize DDR4. you only need firmware if you want to use eDP. it has plenty of PCIe address space, so you could couple it with a simple 2D GPU to achieve a blob free system.
Just got my MNT Reform 2 operators handbook. This thing is mint! superb work by @mntmn and associates. Can’t wait to to get my hands on the DIY kit.

Like Facebook, it turns out @Twitter has also used users' phone numbers provided for security reasons for advertising purposes.
Another example of why companies should not rely on SMS for 2-factor authentication, but instead use apps like @Authy. https://help.twitter.com/en/information-and-ads
