Gardiner from The Linux Gamer covers our Librem 5 shipping announcement with comments from our CEO and CMO youtube.com/watch?v=So_rCYArL3 Thank you for your excitement and support puri.sm/posts/librem-5-shippin

Open source is often praised for producing versatile software, but here's something I haven't seen mentioned ANYWHERE:

Open source is the most accessible source of education for real world software engineering. It provides easy access to code that gets shipped to production and solves real world problems.

Without open source, learning how kernels or web browsers actually work would require a degree, a fat resume, good luck in the job market, and also whatever else corporations decide.

It's been a rainy few days. The sound of rain hitting the window pane gets on my nerves. Yeah I know I'm weird coz most people seem to enjoy that. Smell of rain? Bleah. And what's so romantic about walking in the rain all sticky and wet? Maybe my senses are all screwed up. But luckily I have my dependable noise cancelling headphones.

@cybette
like silent revisions happen to everything from phones to videogame machines and everything in between

@cybette
but i do get your point but all companies do these revisions they just do them internally all devices are same internal specs just outer case and switches change only diff one is batch fir aka the second gen device thats only model with better internals and its a year from nkw most companies release new internals on annual basis

@cybette
and i preordered another one yesterday ill tske the second gen model batch fir for that one

Very excited that @purism has managed to keep their promise of a Q3 ship date. This is one small step for smart phones, and one giant leap for free and open source software!
