@zaivala Happy birthday Moss! Happy new year! My best wishes.

@WinstonSmith@techhub.social @neil @ThatPrivacyGuy I continue this thread with one more question. What is your, any of you, view on Vivaldi? I am aware that part of their code is proprietary. Does that in your view disqualify Vivaldi from privacy and/or security point of view? Or do you see concern of other reason? Or do you consider Vivaldi a relevant sw to use?

@katherined @reality2cast @mastohost @katherined @reality2cast @mastohost A few hours ago in my feed, I saw an alert about instance(s) that were trolls to avoid. Now I have seen similar post, which I just boosted. I have no idea about correctness in those posts. But it got me wonder how I would know about attacks and manage as admin, if I run my own instance.

To all Mastodon-admins: seems like there's an attack on all instances by troll accounts. Servers get slow because of it.
They use thousands of subdomains of activitypub-troll.cf. My 'pull' queues skyrocketed.

I now blocked the domain activitypub-troll.cf and all is back to normal. Please check if you're hit too.

@jon Interesting. I do not remember I used conversion to html. But I do remember another company in the group at least for a period started to use html-based version of documents as a standard, but do not recall how they were created.
A useful feature in Word Perfect was the code mode, horizontal split with the code etc visibile at the bottom half. That experience helped me to easier undrstand the basics when using html for web pages. For me who is not a programmer.

@jon FrameMaker was my default word processor at work for several years! After WordPerfect, before Word.

Today's video (Day 61!!!) is on using systemctl to manage SystemD services. Sound confusing? It's not, I promise! 90daysofmayhem.com/posts/day_6

1999!
Photos from Ireland here in my feed today inspired me to reread one of my Irish-relates stories I wrote, very much written with inspiration from my one and only visit at Ireland. I had a fun time to reread this great story ;-). Less fun for you, but it does not stop me from sharing it here: hemrin.com/stories/21-listen-t

@anne_kreft@nrw.social Your photos reminded me of one of my stories I wrote with very much inspiration of my first and only visit to Ireland. I had to read again and memories comes back. It's sooo green, I agree! (English is not my native language, obviously) hemrin.com/stories/21-listen-t

When I write a post here, I am limited to 500 characters (url:s beyond 23 (if I remember correctly) are excluded from counting). But sometimes I see posts that are far longer. Have you seen it also? Anyone that can explain?

Kina och hur du säkrar din data

@katherined @reality2cast Wow, cool, congratulations! Please talk about it in the pod, the start but not the least with experience after a month or two.

På temat hoppfulla nyheter så tycks regeringen backa (dvs fortsätta ge) angående stöd till SKMA. dn.se/sverige/nya-besked-fran-
