@katherined One take away for me was the positive view of experience, working for a long time with the #Linux #kernel is seen as useful and positive. It included that the #maintainer role for specific parts of the kernel is firstly connected to the person and not to the company the person works for, hence the role moves with the person when changing job/company.

Jag ser tex att ni två tillhör olika instanser, som kan ha olika synsätt. Vissa instanser har, vad jag vet, förutom det personliga hem-flödet också flöden för själva instansen och ett federerat flöde. Då tänker jag att man kan kolla praxis på sitt instansflöde. Min instans, som är ännu en annan, har inget instans- eller federat flöde, och heller ej DM, så det är olika.

It’s hard to digest and understand how a new owner can change (mess up) a company so much in so few days. Example those who were not fired, they appear not to be treated as valuable, else why change conditions to force min 40h/week at physical office? @shawnp0wers I have the green verification, so it means I’m a nerd! :-) Thanks for the lecture, I boosted. What I also have understood re different instances is that they can be configurated differently. So mine don’t have for example DM, nor federated time line as far as I have seen, and more. So that can be another aspect. Also, I believe it varies which Mastodon release is implemented. And specific rules. But as start, I agree, no big deal where I sign up. Thanks again!

@bookofsand Another thought - I haven’t tried it but consider to explore at least my own account: it should be simple to make an rss-feed for an account, just add .rss. So making rss-feeds of those you care most about might be another or additional way to catch up. Anyone who use that method?

@katherined It was interesting listen to this episode of #FlossWeekly about the #Linux #kernel! I don’t understand all, I’m not a sw developer, but enough interested and to learn whatever it is, I must go beyond what I understand today. Linux is fascinating! #Opensource is fascinating!

@Amir Det beror ju för all del på hur många man följer... Men, det går ändå rätt snabbt att scrolla genom alla när man går till sin profil och klickar på följer. Nu förutsätter jag att du tittar i Firefox eller någon annan vanlig webbläsare.

@Amir Det finns en del listor har jag sett, och också några verktyg som man kan låta kolla sina twitterkontakter, jag har inte testat själv. Jag kan posta länkar till de jag sett. Ett annat tips är att kolla profilen på twitter, en hel del skriver mastodon-adressen antingen i profilnamnet eller presentationen, så kolla listan på alla du följer så ser du snart dessa i alla fall.
