@DreamGryphon @tasket @gabrielesvelto FWIW there were multiple unrelated versions of Firefox named Iceweasel (Debian's and GNU's).

@timonsku @whitequark Servo was never supposed to replace Gecko, it was mostly meant as a testbed for tech that could selectively migrate into Gecko once it proves itself within Servo (and that's what already happened with several components long time ago, most notably WebRender and Stylo but also plenty of smaller ones).

Igalia’s Georges Stavracas writes about profiling WebKitGTK (a Linux port of Apple’s WebKit) to see how GTK is doing after being switched from Cairo to Skia, and how he hooked into GTK’s existing tracing mechanisms to make that much easier for everyone. feaneron.com/2024/07/12/profil

Exciting news! Our first just went into the voting round. Check out the amazing 'symbiotic' themed games created by our community. These free software games showcase the power of open-source gaming. Play them now at itch.io/jam/free-software-puri

I just saw an early version of what @holypangolin has been cooking on her own lately and I'm in awe. It's not a new game, but if you played "Karambola" you're in for a real treat. And if you didn't... well, what are you waiting for?

@thephd Flathub builds everything for aarch64 (by default; apps can explicitly opt out).

stop referring to vulnerabilities stemming from software using publicly-available package repositories cataloguing what amounts to a vast effort of free labor as “supply chain attacks”

providing free labor does not make one a supplier — a “supply chain” implies some form of economics where EVERY OTHER MODEL of a supply chain involves money changing hands

these attacks are against a communal resource, not a supply chain

@___warhier I needed something to block SBU signals from passing to the other side. Breaking SBU out is useful too, so did that as well. I didn't really need SuperSpeed pairs to be connected, but did it anyway as a learning exercise.

This in fact breaks TB and DP as both of them use SBU (USB 3 does not), so I connected it back with jumper wires to test it out, out of pure curiosity to find out whether I got it right enough 😜

...but not impossible 😁 Being able to order a 6-layer PCB with capped vias for $2 is crazy. It even appears to work with Thunderbolt and DisplayPort, which is surprising, as I barely knew what I was doing 😂

@joe9nf Seems like someone has stumbled upon the post about opening the hardware layouts yesterday and it got several boosts since, which is likely why you saw it now ;)

@joe9nf You're replying to a post that's almost 2 months old.

@xethos @janvlug The issue I described in that talk has a (downstream) fix that has been deployed in PureOS in early 2023. Unless your system is misconfigured, this can't be the problem you're seeing today.

There's another problem with the modem we're seeing - cellular data connection sometimes gets "stale", with no incoming packets being received on the interface. It's a completely different and unrelated issue that doesn't have a fix yet, just a poor workaround (using old-school PPP for data)

It seems to have happened without much fanfare, but about a month ago @purism has released the Librem 5 hardware layouts under GPLv3 (as original PADS and converted KiCad projects), joining the schematics that were already available from the start.

W końcu wszyscy marzymy o tym, żeby jedynym powodem dla którego urzędnik nie mógłby powiązać głosu z konkretnym wyborcą było to, że prawo mu zabrania.

@gamingonlinux I did make a few dozen games and even a few higher quality ones together with @holypangolin, so I guess we are. Most games on itch: dos.itch.io/; some on Flathub and Steam; all on GitLab: gitlab.com/dosowisko.net/ and gitlab.com/HolyPangolin/

@q3k I'm disrespecting myself enough already so it won't matter, make me read them!
