Unless you're running WIndows servers or Active Directory, if you're paying for MSFT Azure, you're paying too much. Like 10 times too much. You'll get better service from any number of commodity hosters.
If you *are* running Windows servers or AD, you're working for an organisation with inferior, inefficient, inflexible, inscrutable, overpriced IT systems that you cannot really control. Sucks when orgs pay heaps to gift a total monopoly to a 3rd party whose only goal is maximum profit.

It looks like the latest #Librem5 kernel update reduced active power consumption by another 100-140mA based on my own measurements. I hear there are a lot more improvements in the pipeline once we switch from 5.3 to the 5.6 kernel.
Wow, that was quick: Thanks to Lucas Stach our #etnaviv runtime power managemt fix already landed in linux-next: https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/next/linux-next.git/log/?qt=range&q=ea4ed4a55f7363ad8db1863bd536548fb7e5c6aa..78f2bfa3181cd7ee134274aa17177dd933c69dc1
The fix hits the #librem5 with the next kernel update.

"You open the shell to see what's inside. If you're lucky, you find a pe[a]rl. " 😎
(But beware of the daemons, zombies, ELFs, DWARFs, pythons, GNUs and other funny creatures...)
From a user perspective, the shell (text or graphical) is the most fundamental process that needs to run after boot.
It allows to observe, start and kill other processes. (And by extension: files)

As "completely new strategy" I'd suggest phones with hardware switches, such as the Librem 5.
Although it is currently far away from that standby time. (but slowly getting there https://social.librem.one/@dos/103759057208609728)
It suddenly strikes me that 'trillion dollar tech companies not caring that their products turn into abandoned toxic info-waste pits - that customers are still locked into - after a couple of years' and 'trillion dollar oil companies pouring CO2 into the atmosphere' and 'trillion dollar soft drink companies pouring plastic into the sea' are basically all the same problem:
Companies are incentivised, by the economics of selling, not to care at all about the end-of-life story of their products.
