Is there actual work going on?

Especially if used on a phone (which is more likely being lost than a desktop) like #librem or #pinephone it would be much more secure to have an external usb device as a second factor.

Hm, I don't know how willing you're to play arround, but I could offer you my time travelling mainboard.

The sdcard slot always worked like a charm.

You could practice the exchange of the board while waiting for your Rev 1.2b board.

And you could make sure that you're sdcard problem is a hardware problem (and at the same time that the time travelling problem is a hardware problem also).

You'd have to pay the shipping though (5,55€ or ~0,000354157₿ or anything of that value :) )

I had a peek at #TheDesk and #Whalebird - two #Mastodon clients.

I was hoping to find a feature I couldn't find on the web-interface: saving drafts.

I'd love to have a list of drafts of toots I'm thinking about to publish.

It seems only logical to have that aside bookmarks: a list of things I'd like to look into later.

TheDesk kind of has the function, but files in drafts are not saved and it's not well integrated.

The gui in general doesn't follow any standard I'm used to.

Suggestions?

A friend of mine mentioned Lycander (because they can provide up to 60W for charging through USB-C) and I bought this one: https://www.lycander.jp/store/products/305710

I tested it on the #pinephone and it works, but I don't know, yet, whether it is stable. There appear to be issues sometimes that generate a lot of dmesg (didn't look into it).

Ethernet, HDMI, USB-ports work as expected. Charging also.

Yep, I mean that one and using the one dip switch to activate serial instead of headphones.

The wiki explains that you need not to buy the item from @PINE64 , but you can easily use an appropriate usb-serial with an adaptor cable.

I made mine from an usb-serial I already had to program esp8266.

Diagnosing your sdcard slot is tricky I'd say. I wouldn't know a way to exclude the possibility of a software error leading to what you see.

I would try, but I'm not the right person to help someone doing that.

I had problems with my UBPorts mainboard also and exchanged it for the newer version with more ram and with a working usb-c connector.

I'm happy I can play with convergence now and I can share that I didn't regret getting the upgrade offer.

The problem with news is that you have to read all the bullshit before you put people in your filter.

Mastodon as I came to know it is an opt-in system. Empty until I found how to search for a phrase or hashtag.

I had to follow interesting people from my search results first, before I've got any toot automatically showed.

I had to build my content by following and looking for #hashtags.

Sitll only luck? Or do bad experiences come with local and global timeline?

A valid point is that users who do not publish anything anybody would like to read cost resources, too.

If I'd run a server I wouldn't want those people neither.

But isn't it better to ignore them than to give them a reason to present themself as victims of censorship?

If there are no timelines people who post stuff nobody likes to see will not find any readers.

I agree with #Purisms idea that timelines are a problem and am thankful they disabled them.
