Since posting a photo with your phone turned into a laptop is such a trend these days I don't want to miss out with my and a borrowed running :

Sooo this corona warn app seems to work without play service code now, thanks to @larma ! 🎉

Currently you'll have to self-build and it only works in debug mode, but it seems to work.

A friend of mine mentioned Lycander (because they can provide up to 60W for charging through USB-C) and I bought this one: lycander.jp/store/products/305

I tested it on the and it works, but I don't know, yet, whether it is stable. There appear to be issues sometimes that generate a lot of dmesg (didn't look into it).

Ethernet, HDMI, USB-ports work as expected. Charging also.

@normandc

Yep, I mean that one and using the one dip switch to activate serial instead of headphones.

The wiki explains that you need not to buy the item from @PINE64 , but you can easily use an appropriate usb-serial with an adaptor cable.

I made mine from an usb-serial I already had to program esp8266.

Diagnosing your sdcard slot is tricky I'd say. I wouldn't know a way to exclude the possibility of a software error leading to what you see.

I would try, but I'm not the right person to help someone doing that.

I had problems with my UBPorts mainboard also and exchanged it for the newer version with more ram and with a working usb-c connector.

I'm happy I can play with convergence now and I can share that I didn't regret getting the upgrade offer.

> Censorship by private actors is, per se, both common and entirely legitimate (with certain caveats).

Caveats?

You mean if I personally as a private person would be that much more powerful than you it would be o.k. if I'd censor you while adressing an audience bigger than only me?

Or do you mean that it would be o.k. if I'd ignore/block/mute what you say to protect myself?

Or is it somewhere in the field inbetween?

@0 @Coffee

The problem with news is that you have to read all the bullshit before you put people in your filter.

Mastodon as I came to know it is an opt-in system. Empty until I found how to search for a phrase or hashtag.

I had to follow interesting people from my search results first, before I've got any toot automatically showed.

I had to build my content by following and looking for .

Sitll only luck? Or do bad experiences come with local and global timeline?

@0 @Coffee

A valid point is that users who do not publish anything anybody would like to read cost resources, too.

If I'd run a server I wouldn't want those people neither.

But isn't it better to ignore them than to give them a reason to present themself as victims of censorship?

If there are no timelines people who post stuff nobody likes to see will not find any readers.

I agree with idea that timelines are a problem and am thankful they disabled them.

Can't do that with news.

Ich wohne mit einem dreijährigen genialen Genealogen zusammen:

"Papa, Du bist mein Sohn."

05:30 ! Die Hand des 19 Monate alten Bengel klatscht mir im Schlaf direkt auf das Ohr.

Zeit aufzustehen.

@normandc

Well, removed my sdcard (containing /home) also and got the same result: not booting on my .

Would be nice to make a mount fail during boot more graceful in .

But anyway, not all hope is lost. You need a serial connection if you're sure your phone does not boot from another sdcard anymore.

Thanks a lot for your opinion. I feel like that it is exactly what I do agree to and share.

The biased moderation is what bugged me about the imagination of a federation of little kingdoms in which each king decides what opinion can be voiced.

I tend to understand Purisms idea: Stop moderating. To not make people see any content they might find disturbing disable timelines.

Each person now decides which people to follow, to mute to block and what hashtags to look at.

@normandc

Your part would be to try and test what I write from your perspective to improve it and make it usable for non-developers and non-sysadmins.

I'd try to explain and - if my options are not sufficient - get some help elsewhere.

Protocol could be:

- Matrix: Discussing, which steps might help you.

- Wiki: Writing something to explain how to get it done.

- Matrix or Wiki: Suggestions, improvements, questions.

- If problem persists: start over.

Deal?

@normandc

From what I know now I cannot really grab your problem. Keeping speculating wouldn't help to improve the situation, especially not the overall situation.

I looked at the mobian-wiki troubleshooting page and didn't find anything that would help you. There should be some basic things written down. I registered and I'm willing to write them for you and for anybody else running into problems.

I'm slow (working, father, engaged with some projects). If you don't care, we'll get there.

@normandc

How did you copy the files to the sdcard?

Did you remove the card from the phone?
