Update: Avast has shut down the subsidiary company that was capturing and selling customer data due to all the backlash. One down, a few thousand to go.

I've really been enjoying how easy it is to write simple, useful GUI applications for the and I wrote two posts this week that describe how I wrote a simple screenshot and flashlight app:

Hereby I suppose the adoption of the "Content/Framework Ratio" or shortened as CFR as measurement of how wasteful websites handle the resources of there users.

It shall be calculated as

To everyone who still makes text-based tutorials, thank you!

I'd much rather follow a text tutorial than wait 15+ minutes for a video tutorial to load.

Your work is very much underappreciated. Thanks again! 💜

My personal Librem 5 arrives tomorrow, dudes and dudettes! What's the first piece of software I should install on it?

And, yes, I'll post pictures and video and whatnot. :)

Just putting it out there: if anyone ever wants help - debugging, problem-solving, tutoring, whatever - with the Linux CLI (bash/ksh93, GNU coreutils..., vi, emacs, sed, awk) and/or git, I'll help.

I won't make you feel bad for anything you don't already know. I promise. (Nobody ever should.)

I'll reiterate every once in a while. Boosts appreciated!

If you're Swedish and like Linux, open source and friendly communities, I would highly suggest you checking out the newly started project linuxkompis.se.

We currently have a forum, Mastodon instance and an IRC-channel. :)

password generators are shit because they have to rely on the random number generators in your computers and software that the NSA obviously controls

the most secure password generator is putting a cat on your keyboard because nobody knows what the hell those devils think, not even the NSA

Today 3 years ago 12 people founded Nextcloud as an 100% Open Source, sustainable, community oriented and privacy aware cloud project and company. I‘m so happy and proud to see what the Nextcloud community achieved since then.

Does anyone here know Japanese or Swedish?

I am learning these two languages and I would like to send messages to someone of sentences I come up with or to have small text conversations to practice :)

I know Russian so if anyone wants to practice it with me I will be happy to help.

Are you not feeling motivated to go outside for a healthy walk? How about downloading the application StreetComplete from @fdroidorg and start helping out OpenStreetMap by adding missing data about the places around you!

I started today and it made my daily walks a lot more fun! It also motivates me to walk even more and visit new places that I wouldn't visit otherwise. :)
