@Matter @AaronTheIssueGuy one side: a startup fighting against bigtech and lacklustre regulatory bodies to empower users and creators using decentralized tech. The other, misinformed users blaming the startup as a pyramid/ponzi scheme. Who should I root for π€ ?
So I spent the last few hours on taking pictures of cats with the rear camera of my Librem 5. Yep, that's my job now. #librem5 #gnu #linux #mobile #cat #caturday
All credit for the camera support goes to Dorota, Martin and Angus: https://source.puri.sm/Librem5/linux-next/-/issues/44#note_148408 @merge @purism
@goatwildernesscollective @purism I use the openvpn app on my Linux and windows machines using librem tunnel's .ovpn config. I don't have an iOS device but I would expect it should work as long as iOS supports openvpn apps. Checkout docs.puri.sm, especially the "librem one > generic" section on how to setup openvpn for librem tunnel
"me in the morning, right after I turned the switches on"
This may not be the most impressive winter selfie (it's a 8M sensor outputting 0.3M after all), but you got to start somewhere :) #librem5
I did nothing but taking the photo (looped in a script with v4l2-ctl and dcraw; then displayed on screen using Eye of GNOME) - all the credit goes to Dorota and Martin, and the work continues there: https://source.puri.sm/Librem5/linux-next/-/issues/43
#PinePhone to ship with Plasma Mobile on #Manjaro from now on.

@jgarciao @brainblasted @gnome Yes I was using fedora before. But since a couple of years I had to switch to debian based distros because some software I need is distributed as a .deb file. I wish I could switch back to Fedora.
@brainblasted @gnome I relly wish GNOME releases this as a distribution that consumers can use and not just for developers who want to test. I like vanilla GNOME but getting that on Ubuntu/popos is a pain. There is always some UI elements mixed with their own tweaks. The closest alternative is Debian stable but one has to wait forever to get updates on it. I tried Debian testing but it is quite unstable as expected every couple of months.
@smt absolutely, opting not to consume is not a wierd phenomenon. But I found @sotolf@fosstodon.org 's comment of "not something I want to support, not matter how floss it is" since crypto/right content exists on lbry data network a bit weird though.
@sotolf@fosstodon.org @smt I find the ideology of not supporting a technology just because "someone I don't like is using it" to be a bit weird.
@smt #lbry is not targeting any specific audience. They are targeting a censorship free platform. Since crypto and far-right are often censored on mainstream a lot of them joined #lbry and hence they are trending for now. As more people join wider content will show up in the trending page. Also you can follow a bunch of tags you are interested in and check the trending for tags, which I find very useful than just looking at what is trending for everyone.

@wdavery @wonderingdane@fosstodon.org @LinuxLounge @lbry The way #LBRY protocoal is designed, every desktop app user is pretty much a self hosted instance on #LBRY. lbry@lbry.world provides some servers to help seed content as most users expect it to work like a centralized platform where they upload stuff and forget about it.
