I hate it when I see #UX #Designers imply that good design caters only to the majority and ignores the minorities. Good #design should be #inclusive and accommodating to #diversity.
@andrewstroehlein Here are some orgs with their own servers: https://social.sfconservancy.org/users/conservancy

@andrewstroehlein I think it depends on how professional you want the org to look. For example, would you run a business using email accounts with AOL.com or Gmail.com domain names? Using your actual domain for social network, email, and WWW gives the org a lot more validity.
@Gilgongo @PavelASamsonov So we shouldn't have those image description fields in Mastodon for the tiny percentage of blind people then? I kind of want to support minorities even if it's annoying.

@SomeGadgetGuy Yeah, up until a month ago it was a very different vibe.
@SomeGadgetGuy I'm excited that this network of social networks run by society itself is gaining steam. Most people are really nice here too.
@SomeGadgetGuy Yay, welcome to the Fediverse!
@thelinuxEXP
It turns out that his employees at SpaceX were "managing" him and preventing his dumber ideas from being implemented.
I think what we're seeing at Twitter is what happens when he doesn't have employees managing him.

@thelinuxEXP @stuarthoughton @gabriel I don't see him doing anything at all. Most of what he says is just to trick investors or scam the government and many people are starting to realize that. Here's a good collection: https://elonmusk.today/
@godpod
Fedilab and Twidere are pretty good.
Now that we're starting to see more impersonation accounts on Mastodon, a reminder that verified websites are a thing. It's not perfect, but implementable at the individual level, and this is how we know for example which of these is the real @stephenfry - and it's not the one with the meaningless checkmark. :)
@arf Nevermind, looks like the trackpad has issues on Linux: https://zentalk.asus.com/en/discussion/65793/asus-br1100cka-linux-issue
@yestergearpc Also, Happy Thanksgiving! Tell my cousin I said so too. :)
@yestergearpc Damn, that's a crazy good deal! I want to learn how to do Kernel Virtual Machines since that's supposed to have great performance. Currently using VirtualBox which isn't that great.
@rysiek That kind of talk is over my head. :) But their contribution forums are really helpful and responsive with feature proposal ideas and such: https://support.delta.chat/
