@kyle that's my understanding. I like pure OS a lot conceptually, I just wish I was at a point where I could afford the hardware
@kyle Will there be a pure OS build for the pinephone? Because the Librem 5 is a few hundred more than I could do for a phone
Every traditional for-profit company is now faced with the (false) choice of selling customer data and risking customer backlash if they get caught, or leaving money on the table and risking shareholder backlash (and lawsuits) if they don't.
Your browsing data is so valuable that even an AV company that's supposed to protect you from software that capture and sells your data, itself captures and sells your data. #privacy

@kyle that sounds too perfect to be a coincidence
@kyle I know a guy who's looking for a way to get the 600 MHz band 71 for his Librem 5, where would you recommend to look for a baseband modem for that?

I am at the part of the story in Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea, about chapter 18, where everything seems amazing, but I can't help but wonder how it ends. Perhaps it is the foreboding loss I am faced with, but it seems especially certain to me that this wonderful adventure Professor Aronnax and co are going on is going to end, perhaps tragically for the crew of the Nautilus.
@zachir Oh, man! So sorry to hear that, my friend! Losing a part of the family (animals or humans) is never easy. Sending you the best vibes I possibly can.
@lunduke I am extremely greatful for your show. We are having a bit of a dark time in my household (we have to put the family dog to sleep, so to speak). We are all feeling the weight of it, but I am glad to have your beam of optimism to help comfort me in this time. Thanks so much for being a rad dude, and happy Linux Thursday (tomorrow)! :)
@lunduke the people who say you should attack and harass white males believe that you cannot be racist against whites, or sexist against males. Because of this, calling them out for being racist and sexist upsets them because they have an internal double standard

@lunduke it is not a conflict of interest, if you assume Windows (and other closed source companies) are purchasing a seat in an attempt to derail or mold Linux into something that better fits their needs
I have decided to get back into reading. I am reading an ebook, sure, but I have frequently had my interests piqued when hearing about Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea, by Jules Verne, so I will be reading that for a while, and perhaps posting my thoughts. I am excited to start, once Calibre installs on my computer.
