@Linux4Everyone@fosstodon.org I wish you a speed recovery, Jason! Here is to seeing you fly out of the hospital in no time at all. ๐Ÿฅ‚

@omgubuntu I really like those 'snippets'. On the contrary, I always disable the 'top sites' and 'highlights'. This makes the 'New Tab' page look much nicer.

@Linux4Everyone@fosstodon.org I hope that you will get well soon! I can't wait for your next podcast. ๐Ÿ˜

@darkeye @purism I agree with you there. They really 'hit it out of the park' with the interface! I hope the UX also becomes more refined and polished. ๐Ÿ‘

@techit @syster @torproject It's still YouTube, though. For now, YouTube is the best option for live streaming. However, it would be great if they were later made available on a more privacy-friendly platform as well for users who prefer it.

@laila @libreoffice There is quite a bit of debate over that as far as I know. While I think it's understandable for different people to have different tastes, should make it more clear to new users that different UIs are available for it. Perhaps, a 'first-run wizard' that asks which UI you want to use might be a great way to achieve this.

@lunduke That's probably a bad idea but I guess it makes for a good comic strip! ๐Ÿ˜‚

@JoshStrobl @lbry I agree with you there. I was also surprised when I happened to stumble across their Mastodon account. They really should promote or at least mention it more.

@snapcraftio Will the Communitheme snap work for other distros as well?

It's been a while since we toured the Snap Store, and we thought you'd be interested in a fresh batch of cool, fun and useful applications that can help you perfect your daily digital activities. Without further ado, let's have a look.

Do you not like how LibreOffice looks? Change it. Do a complete makeover and embrace the power of FOSS! Stay tuned to catch my next video on LBRY.

@mewmew @Tutanota Good point! ๐Ÿ˜‚ However, it is important to note that there is a distinction between the business models of the two organizations. Brave is made by a 'for-profit' organization while Firefox is made by a 'not-for-profit' organization. ๐Ÿค”

@Linux4Everyone@fosstodon.org I guess you are right. It does seem a bit irrelevant for LBRY users. My bad! ๐Ÿ˜‚ I am glad that you are going to turn your attention on LBRY as well, though. I know it still has a long way to go but I've seen it improve dramatically over the last year or so and that is why I am supporting the platform. It really has the potential to be a competent alternative video platform to YouTube. ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Stay secure, use encryption. Tutanota makes sure that your entire mailbox, calendar and contacts are encrypted. Check it out: tutanota.com/

@Linux4Everyone@fosstodon.org Hey, Jason. I think you forgot to include the LBRY link here again. ๐Ÿ˜„

@danie10 I know. I heard. DirectX is just an API. There are a lot of elements in an OS besides a kernel and apps with a GUI. I may be wrong but I doubt that it is still 'Linux' we are actually talking about. I also doubt it is due to 'compatibility issues'. The same feat could have been achieved in a much better way as highlighted by @gbryant. ๐Ÿค”

@danie10 ๐Ÿ˜„ Yeah. I guess Linux is 'getting everywhere'! Although, I do have to point out that Windows is just using the Linux kernel. As you might already know, what we call 'Linux' is more than just the kernel. In the end, I have to wonder. Is it really 'Linux' even though it uses the same kernel? ๐Ÿค”
