Nevermind... it's all installed now, but UEFI fracked me. I can't get it to friggin' boot!

I have finally discovered the secret to installing on my m.2 drive. It was silly... after cfdisk, just type /dev/nvme0n1 and bada bing! Why have I been so silly my whole life? I was just too afraid of wiping my archive HDD by accident...

So I watched this yesterday:

Procedural Programming: It's Back? It Never Went Away

It is a really interesting perspective and history lesson on programming.

What is the best Distro to learn how Linux works?

Like... *really* works?

I'd just like to say, big props to #DuckDuckGo for this type of answer. Very cool.

This is the Unix Philosophy according to Doug McIlroy (inventor of Unix pipes):

Write programs that do one thing and do it well.

AND

Write programs to work together.

(We sometimes forget that second part I think)

To my friends out there, how cool would it be to have a set of stickers to adorn your laptops and cars and all manner of things with the Slackware logo and other things like that? Since the Slackware store is gone, you have to make your own. It is pretty cheap on Sticker Mule, but minimum order is 50 stickers for custom stickers.

I was thinking about even if there was a lot of interest, I could order like 500 and sell them for a little profit, then send that profit to Volkerding.

I wrote a little article about ASCIIDoc and how it has been a net benefit to my writing career. I hope you enjoy. It is a short article, so it shouldn't be a long read. Just a few thoughts.

I'm watching Merlin (en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Merlin for probably the 5th time and just realized that in almost every episode the Sutton Hoo helmet from Anglo-Saxon times appears in the background! How friggin' awesome is that???

Alright, I have a little write-up for the Static Site / Static Blog Generator I have been using.

This makes a lot of sense given MS's larger strategy with Azure. They need to get Linux devs off Macs and AWS and onto Windows and Azure. Github and Linux tools on Windows are the gateway. arstechnica.com/gadgets/2019/0

I went over some of the results of the controversy behind Librem One over here: linuxliaison.org/librem-one-th

Seems that things are right again and that they did right by those who care about the cause :) Let me know what you think in the end.

Here's a list of my 3 favorite podcasts for tech-life:

Linux Podcast and general GNU paraphernalia talk. @klaatu is the host with his nice coffee breaks and Slackware as a base.

@lunduke hosts this podcast with his quirky humor and fun projects! I don't know his favorite/current distro. 😔

@linuxjournal puts this one on. They also have interesting discussion about the whole tech world.

Enjoy!

@DistroJunkie@fosstodon.org oh, me too! Hehehe, also, @klaatu I was definitely talking about GNU World Order! 😃😃

By the way, where do you get your music again klaatu? I know you probably mentioned it before, but I can't seem to remember. Was it archive.org?
