@gbryant Lady Folk seem to be good at that kind of insult. I wonder if it is somehow evolvutionarily beneficial. ๐๐
My wife is very good at making those quippy remarks.
@m4iler hey, I like your writing style! It is good to know a fellow linguistics student. ๐
I was technically an English student, but by graduation I could have chosen Linguistics or English.
@m4iler oh that would be cool. Really cool.
@m4iler to be honest, I wish I had a simple 4G/5G connection for my home internet. Charter/Spectrum sucks so bad... I pay for 100MBPS and I get about 10
@m4iler I think it would be neat if they made something where you could drop the phone into a laptop shell and run it as a laptop. ๐๐
Hey y'all!
Today is my birthday! I'm now 29. My plans in the morning are to make biscuits and cheese, and then in the evening I'm going to be... doing what I normally do with an evening to myself, hop between doing CSS, Org-mode stuff, and working on the project of the day - which I'm planning to be qtMUD.
If you wanna give me a birthday present (money), see https://emsenn.net/#supplements-contribute
@m4iler that's a good girl! Hold on to that one! Also, I had a similar experience. I told my wife I wanted to get rid of my smartphone. Her response was, "Why don't you just get that Librem 5? Even if it doesn't have apps, at least it has more functionality."
Until then she said it was too expensive. ๐๐๐
@purism oh good! I seriously regretted not just signing up for the paid service right away.
@purism find a way to let me upgrade from Basic to Paid, and you'll have 1 more backer.
Say hello to Telephant!
I've written a little Mastodon client for the Desktop - called Telephant - and am currently looking for beta testers!
Want to help out and don't mind compiling the app yourself? (Don't worry it's fairly straight forward and I've added detailed instructions to the README!)
Join me here:

Looking forward to hearing your feedback!

@hund@linuxrocks.online it would be powerful enough to combine all my computing needs into a single device. I'm not sure if I will do it.
But I have a plan.
I want to set up a backup server with my 18TB HDD and a raspberry pi, a Calibre library server, a media server, and something else (I have 4 pis, so I don't know what else I need). But the laptop would be the only device that actually has a keyboard and I would SSH into the pis for updates and such.
