@rob@fosstodon.org @switchingsoftware Might not satisfy your requirements, but if you just need an online resume or portfolio, you should make yourself a website! Mine is intended to be used that way: wallace.fm

@codesections @sir As much as I hate the JVM, Clojure is amazing precisely because it's an ergonomic LISP. Hash, set, and vector literals, threading macros, destructuring semantics.... If Clojure weren't on the JVM, it would be soooooo good

@sir I've been playing with Carp recently: github.com/carp-lang/carp

Compiled, borrow-checked LISP. Good FFI to C. Yes please! Still pretty immature, though, but a lot of potential IMO

@elementary You mean to tell me choosing a closed proprietary platform was a bad idea?

Hello, I’m the reel2bits project main developper (a #FOSS self-hostable #soundcloud like with #ActivityPub federation).

It’s written in python/flask/vuejs and I need help because of health issues I’m unable to work a lot on it anymore, if you are interested to help me on some of the issues and more specially the ActivityPub part, you can contact me through:

the project matrix channel
the issue tracker
this account

boosts appreciated, thanks.

@ChrisWere@linuxrocks.online What if self-hosting were painless? I use FreshRSS on my instance. Been very pleased with Yunohost for almost a year now yunohost.org

@lunduke Our second child was due yesterday, but he or she is still in there! And by "there", I mean my wife.

@Readlebee I know and love Postgres, but not MySQL. I do know there are some nice features Postgres has that MySQL doesn't — queryable JSON columns, materialized views... MySQL is less supportive of triggers, stored procedures, subqueries, ... To me MySQL feels like a Honda Civic. Reliable, but nothing fancy. Postgres is more lux. Still gets you to the same place, just a little more comfortably (and fun!)

@switchingsocial@mastodon.at Any suggestions for an alternative to Google Authenticator?

@bram I want to self-host for privacy and to save money, but installing and maintaining all the services I want is too hard for me to do well by myself

@Blort I self-hosted with Docker containers for a few years, but upgrading the containers was too hard. I switched to YunoHost and have been loving it. No port problems like you mentioned (maybe I should lock down my firewall, though)

@sir I started self-hosting my own email recently with YunoHost (yunohost.org). The problem with self-hosting email is the setup and maintenance burden. This solves that quite well!

@sir ❤️ ty! You rock btw! Tooting you from sway right now!
